Highlights
Spot trading volume of dogcoin surged 123%, while futures activity and open interest contracts showed a significant increase in the participation of leveraged traders.
Despite the pickup in trading activity, Dogecoin remains below the key moving average, and bearish momentum and weak technical structures continue to dominate price movements.
Bullish derivatives positions remain on mainstream exchanges, but buyers still need stronger spot demand to recover key resistance levels and reverse the trend.
Trading volume soared, but technical weakness
Dogecoin spot trading volume recorded a 123% increase, and traders became more active as the memein approached multi-month lows. The surge in trading volume has been accompanied by increased futures participation, yet the broader price structure remains favorable to sellers.
According to Coinglass data, spot trading volume climbed to about US$219 million, futures trading volume reached nearly US$1.5 billion, and open interest remained above US$1.1 billion, indicating that leveraged traders are still holding large positions without a clear rebound in prices.
Despite increased participation in both the spot and derivatives markets, Dogecoin still hovered around US$0.069 during the latest trading session. The cryptocurrency is still below several important moving averages, and bearish momentum remains solid.
The rise in trading activity contrasts with the weak technical structure.
Dogecoin once again failed to recover its 26-day exponential moving average (approximately US$0.074) and continued to fall below the 50-day EMA (approximately US$0.078) and 100-day EMA (approximately US$0.087), further strengthening the current downtrend.
At the same time, the 200-day moving average remained above US$0.10 and continued to tilt downward, reflecting the overall weakness that has developed in recent months and highlighting the gap that bulls need to recover before reversing the trend.
The momentum indicator also remains cautious, with the relative strength index hovering in the range of 34 to 35, bringing Dogecoin close to the oversold area. However, oversold conditions alone rarely confirm a sustained recovery, especially if prices remain at lower highs and lower lows. It is worth noting that the jump in trading volume is eye-catching because abnormally high activity is often accompanied by major turning points in the market-the increase in trading volume either reflects the recruitment of large investors or the surrender of weak holders.
Current price movements have not confirmed any of the above results, and traders are watching to see whether greater market participation will translate into continued buying pressure.
Bullish derivatives positions await price confirmation
The derivatives market presents a more optimistic picture than the spot market, with leading traders on major exchanges holding more long positions than short positions, resulting in a bullish trend in the long/short ratio on multiple trading platforms.
However, this optimism has not yet translated into stronger spot demand, and despite increased speculative interest, Dogecoin remains below its most important short-term resistance level.
Recovering the 26-day EMA (approximately US$0.074) will be the first improvement in buyers 'technical aspects, while a breakthrough in the 50-day EMA (approximately US$0.078) may strengthen recovery momentum, after which the US$0.087 resistance zone will become the next major obstacle.
Dogecoin trading volume surged 123%, reflecting a renewed recovery in trader engagement despite continued weakness in the broader price structure. However, before the technical outlook breaks out of the current bearish trend, buyers still need to recover key resistance levels.
