Schwartz's profile on X enhances this Hollywood theme through AI-generated images that reference Ripple's legal history and his public identity as honorary chief technology officer. Artificial intelligence interactions are becoming increasingly common in the cryptocurrency community, blending technical discussions with creative interactions around blockchain leaders and projects.
Former Ripple Chief Technology Officer David Schwartz responded to Grok's suggestion that veteran actor Ian McClain should play himself in a fictional film based on his career. According to Grok, McLean's legendary role as Gandalf makes him the right person to play one of the main architects of the XRP ledger.
The conversation began when Schwartz asked the AI chatbot which actor was best suited to play him in a biopic. Grok said the fictional work will be named "The Wizard of Ripple" and present the creation of the XRP ledger as a decentralized financial magic. In addition, Grok rewrote Gandalf's famous quote into a version of fast and cheap cross-border payments. The response quickly spread among the XRP community, prompting Schwartz to reveal his casting preferences.
Schwartz did not agree with the AI's choice, saying he would choose Jeff Daniels to play the role. However, he also admitted that Daniels was too old to star in such films.
Hollywood themes fit Schwartz's online image
According to David Schwartz's profile on Platform X, this latest exchange is consistent with the themes presented on his account for some time. His profile header already displays an AI-generated film-style introduction inspired by Ripple's history and its legal dispute with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition, Grok compares Schwartz to an intelligent wizard, which is very consistent with his current position in the Ripple ecosystem. Although he no longer serves as chief technology officer, he still actively participates as honorary chief technology officer.
This role shift separated his responsibilities from senior management. As a result, Schwartz devoted more time to writing code, improving network performance, and contributing to the long-term technical development of XRP ledgers.
