The Dogecoin team cheered the acceptance of cryptocurrency payments by Tesla Model Doge, a merchandise store based on The Salt Road. Users can purchase hoodies, T-shirts, hats, mugs, totes and iPhone phone case in the online store through Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogcoin.

The Salt Road platform behind the store has developed Via Salaria, a self-managed cryptocurrency ecosystem designed for real-world merchant payments and rewards. It supports Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogcoin, allowing companies and individuals to pay and pay digital assets directly online without the need for intermediaries to hold funds.

Dogecoin was created on December 6, 2013 by software engineers Billy Marcus and Jackson Palmer as a parody of the rapid proliferation of cryptocurrencies at the time. Its name and mascot are derived from the "Doge" emoji derived from a 2010 photo of a Shiba Inu named Kabosu. Although born as a joke, Dogcoin has built an active online community. Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk has often publicly supported the memecoin.

Although dogcoins are rarely accepted in global retail payments, they are occasionally used to purchase specific items, such as the Tesla Model Doge. It should be noted that this merchandise store has no official connection with Musk's car and clean energy companies or Dogcoin itself.

As of press time, the market value of Dogecoin is approximately US$10.7 billion, ranking 11th in the market value of cryptocurrencies. The transaction price is US$0.06909, down 8% in the past month.
