Trading activity hits record high
Hedera Network is recording its strongest throughput data to date. In the past two weeks, the average daily transaction volume has been approximately 291,200 transactions, reaching a record peak of 346,943 transactions on August 12. This milestone highlights the high-throughput design philosophy that Hedera has been adhering to since its independent online launch. The network can process up to 10,000 transactions per second and complete final confirmation in three to five seconds. The combination of speed and low cost makes it a competitive choice for business and developer application scenarios, from supply chain tracking to micropayments.
Hedera's underlying hashmap consensus mechanism makes it different from traditional blockchain architectures. The hash map algorithm provides a secure and reliable way to reach consensus so that no single entity can tamper with recorded events. The network's basic token transfer fee is approximately US$0.0001, providing predictable costs for high-volume applications regardless of transaction size.
TVL rises, but HBAR tokens lag
In terms of decentralized finance, the total value of locked positions on the Hedera network has risen by approximately 5.2% to US$20.6 million in the past seven days, and despite a negative 30-day growth rate, capital inflows are still moderate and stable. The average daily trading volume reached US$40.8 million, indicating that liquidity in the ecosystem is still active. However, the trading price of HBAR tokens is still well below its historical peak. The coin's all-time high was $0.5692, a level that has not been touched for some time. Adoption of enterprise-level blockchain is accelerating, but investors are still questioning whether network growth can translate into stronger performance for tokens. The disconnect between on-chain activity and token prices is a recurring theme in the broader crypto market, and Hedera is no exception.
As of July 30, 2026, the Canary HBAR ETF held approximately 704.35 million HBARs with net assets of US$47.8 million. While this represents meaningful institutional interest, it is still relatively small compared to the network's enterprise-level ambitions and the global reach of the Governance Council. Getting HBAR tokens to close the gap with the fundamentals on their chain requires continued demand at the token level, not just growth in network usage.
