Neuberger and Securitize launch multi-chain tokenized fixed income fund

Asset management company Neuberger has launched its first tokenized fixed income fund through Securitize, providing proactively managed high-yield strategies on four blockchains: Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX) and Sui (SUI).

According to an announcement released on Tuesday, the Newberg Securitize High-yield Tokenized Fund (HINC) will mainly invest in high-yield bonds, with additional secured loan certificates and leveraged loans.

The launch comes as investors demand higher returns amid fierce competition for corporate and government financing.

"Past market conditions have rewarded investors who believe capital will remain cheap and abundant," Saxo Bank chief investment strategist Charu Chanana said in a client note on Tuesday. "The emerging market environment may reward investors who realize that capital has a price again."

The new fund is open to qualified investors, and Securitize provides the infrastructure to issue and manage tokenized shares on four blockchain networks.

Newberg will serve as a sub-adviser to the tokenized fund for the first time. Its fixed-income platform manages more than $230 billion in assets, while the company's overall assets under management are approximately $613 billion.

According to RWA.xyz data, Securitize's distributed asset value among 26 tokenized real-world assets is approximately US$4.96 billion. Its products include BlackRock's $2.7 billion BUIDL fund,$355 million tokenized AAA CLO fund and $95 million Apollo Diversified Credit Fund.

The company's shares rose about 5% in early trading on Tuesday, giving the company's market value to about $838 million. Despite the gains, the stock is still down more than 50% from its level shortly after its public listing in July.
