The acquisition enhances MoonPay's capabilities in the cryptocurrency deposit space, which focuses on helping users transfer digital assets to wallets and decentralized apps in fewer technical steps. Founded in 2023, Glide has developed software that allows apps to accept deposits from multiple funding sources, including cryptocurrency wallets, centralized exchanges, payment cards, and different blockchain networks.
MoonPay said that Glide's technology will be integrated into its existing MoonPay Deposits product, which is already used by multiple cryptocurrency platforms. Glide's routing system eliminates the need for users to manually bridge assets or perform token redemption before recharging applications, but instead automatically selects the appropriate transfer path among the supported blockchain networks.

MoonPay announced the acquisition of Glide, a move it says expands its cryptocurrency deposit infrastructure by enabling seamless deposits from any token, wallet, exchange or payment card, while also bringing the Glide team into the company.
Deposit infrastructure becomes a bigger battleground
This deal highlights the growing focus of cryptocurrency infrastructure providers on simplifying one of the industry's most difficult entry challenges: transferring assets between fragmented blockchain ecosystems. Unlike traditional fiat payment tracks, cryptocurrency users usually need to bridge tokens between different networks or convert assets into supported currencies before completing a deposit. These additional steps can increase transaction costs, delay the entry process, and dissuade new users.
Glide's infrastructure attempts to reduce this complexity by: supporting deposits from more than 100 cryptocurrency tokens; being compatible with more than 30 blockchain networks; multiple sources of funds, including wallets, exchanges, and payment cards; cross-link transfers designed to optimize transaction speed and cost; and self-managed smart contracts that allow users to always control assets during the transfer process. According to MoonPay, Glide currently processes more than $100 million in annualized transactions on its network.
The latest move in MoonPay's acquisition strategy
The acquisition of Glide continues MoonPay's aggressive expansion through mergers and acquisitions over the past two years. Recent transactions include MoonPay's acquisition of Entendre, which strengthens the company's AI-driven financial and accounting automation capabilities, as well as acquisitions for cryptographic security, stablecoin infrastructure, Solana payments and cryptocurrency deposit technology. Rather than developing all products internally, the company has increasingly acquired professional infrastructure providers that cover different aspects of the cryptocurrency trading life cycle.
Recent acquisitions cover businesses focusing on the following areas: cryptographic security and key management; stablecoins and banking infrastructure;Solana payment and transaction infrastructure; artificial intelligence-driven financial and accounting automation; and cryptocurrency deposits and entry technology. The company also relies heavily on equity acquisitions rather than cash transactions. Several previously announced deals have adopted a similar structure, allowing the acquired team to gain equity while retaining MoonPay's cash reserves. MoonPay's acquisition of Dawn Labs is another example of the company's growth strategy through acquisitions in the cryptocurrency infrastructure space.
Former Robinhood wallet developer joins MoonPay
Glide was founded by Tushar Soni and Qinyu Tong, who previously worked on Robinhood's cryptocurrency wallet team and later founded the startup through Y Combinator. The company is relatively small, with only four employees at the time of acquisition. Glide leadership said all employees are expected to join MoonPay after the transaction is completed. The startup also served more than 50 corporate customers before the acquisition.
Why is this deal important
The acquisition reflects a broader trend in the cryptocurrency industry: infrastructure is abstracting the complexity of blockchain for developers and users. Similar to MoonPay's acquisition of Decent, the Glide transaction highlights the company's strategy to expand its digital asset infrastructure through targeted acquisitions. As stablecoins, tokenized assets and cross-chain applications continue to expand, payment providers are increasingly competing to provide end-to-end transaction infrastructure rather than just providing stand-alone services such as fiat deposit channels or payment gateways. By adding Glide's deposit routing technology to existing payment products, MoonPay has expanded its influence on another level of cryptocurrency trading infrastructure. Whether this strategy translates into a larger market share will depend on whether exchanges, wallets and fintech platforms are willing to adopt it to provide users with a simpler recharge experience in an increasingly multi-chain digital asset ecosystem.
