United Stables selects Chainlink as its official oracle partner for US$1 billion U stablecoin

United Stables has appointed Chainlink as its official data oracle and cross-chain infrastructure provider for U stablecoin. The stablecoin is expanding its business on BNB Chain, Ethereum and TRON. The cooperation aims to improve the reliability of market data, transparency of reserves, and seamless interoperability to support U's expansion in mainstream blockchain networks.

Integration aims to improve transparency and efficiency

United Stables executives said that the current supply of U stablecoins has exceeded US$1 billion, and daily trading volume has exceeded US$2.5 billion. The company is working with Chainlink to ensure real-time access to transparent market data and provide accurate reserve information. These factors are seen as key to maintaining user trust during rapid adoption. In addition to initially integrating Chainlink's data oracle, United Stables also plans to introduce Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) in the future, which aims to simplify transfers between multiple blockchains and reduce friction when managing liquidity across networks.

U is a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar, backed by a mixture of fiat currencies and digital assets held by regulated custodians. United Stables reported that its total locked position value (TVL) climbed to more than $1 billion within three months of launch, making it one of the largest new entrants to the market.

Reserve transparency becomes focus of stablecoins

The rapid rise of algorithms and asset-backed stablecoins has brought increasing attention to the issue of reserve transparency. Events in recent years, such as the collapse of TerraUSD in 2022 and the brief decoupling of the USDC in 2023, have highlighted the risk that investor confidence can be lost when the underlying assets or location of reserves of stablecoins are questioned. For example, when Circle disclosed that its $3.3 billion in reserves were deposited at failed Silicon Valley banks, USDC fell below $0.90. The situation stabilized after U.S. regulators stepped in to protect depositors. But this incident shows that even if the blockchain infrastructure itself remains secure, stablecoins remain vulnerable to confidence-driven fluctuations.

Real-time and verifiable reserve reporting is rapidly becoming the minimum expectation of any stablecoin aimed at large-scale adoption. Transparent market data and reliable reserve audits are now often as important as the number of exchanges supporting the currency. Although United Stables emphasizes transparency, stability ultimately depends on the quality and accessibility of reserves during times of stress. Users are reminded not only to pay attention to the reported numbers, but also to consider the nature, location and liquidity of the supporting assets.

Liquidity and practicality remain critical to adoption

Although the supply of U stablecoins is reported at US$1 billion, it still faces the continuing challenge of increasing active circulation. The actual value of a stablecoin depends on its real-world practicality, including liquidity in decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, ease of use across exchanges, and reliability of making large transfers without significant price impact.

Chainlink recently launched a market data product that aims to promote the integration of U.S. stocks and other traditional assets into blockchain applications. This may further strengthen the infrastructure available to stablecoins such as U, allowing them to more easily access off-chain data and assets in a decentralized system.

stablecoins vs.

U stablecoins: The circulation supply is US$1 billion, reserve transparency is provided in real time through Chainlink, and the blockchain supports BNB Chain, Ethereum, and TRON.
USDC: Circulation supply exceeds US$24 billion, reserve transparency is regularly audited, blockchain supports Ethereum, Solana, etc.
TerraUSD (history): Circulation supply is out (collapse), reserve transparency algorithm (failure), blockchain supports Terra network.

United Stables positions itself as a highly transparent stablecoin for multi-chain adoption. However, continued review of its reserves and U's usefulness in decentralized applications will likely determine its long-term role in a growing market. As stablecoins expand their influence, user confidence depends not only on transparent reserves, but also on strong liquidity and reliability under pressure.
