Cardano spot flow drops sharply in hours
On Friday, Cardano's spot flow fell sharply in just a few hours as the broader cryptocurrency market continued to slump. Among the top 100 major cryptocurrencies, most prices fell, with declines ranging from 1% to 11% on the day.
Cardano spot traffic plummeted
Cardano's native token ADA fell 4.60% to US$0.166 in the past 24 hours. The decline was accompanied by strong selling pressure as traders responded to continued weakness in digital assets.
Spot flow is a key indicator for tracking the flow of funds in and out of cryptocurrency exchanges, and has fluctuated violently. According to CoinGlass, Cardano's spot flow plummeted by 1,917.11% in just four hours. During this period, inflows reached US$1.19 million, while outflows totaled US$1.49 million, leaving Cardano's net flow at minus US$303,100.
Negative net flows in the spot market usually mean more assets are being withdrawn from trading platforms than are being deposited, which may indicate that holders are increasing accumulation and that buying activity is temporarily rising despite the overall decline in prices.

Cardano's spot flow fell by 1,917.11% in four hours, with outflows exceeding inflows by US$303,100, indicating that investors are withdrawing more money from the exchange than they are depositing.
Cardano's recent hard fork activity
Cardano, a public blockchain platform focusing on scalability and research-driven development, recently completed the van Rossem hard fork. The upgrade was implemented on July 18, 2026 at Zera Boundary 644 and is the first time that Cardano has been voted on by all three governance entities-delegated representatives (DReps), interest pool operators (SPOs) and the Constitutional Council (CC).
The upgrade was implemented by the Intersect Hard Fork Working Group, an organization dedicated to coordinating key changes within the Cardano ecosystem. The successful implementation of the van Rossem hard fork has brought Cardano into its official "era of comprehensive governance" and accelerated plans for subsequent upgrades.
Preparations have begun for the hard fork of the Dijkstra era, which aims to bring Ouroboros Leios to the network.
(Note: Ouroboros Leios is a protocol upgrade designed to improve the network efficiency, consensus security and scalability of the Cardano blockchain.)
Upgraded network performance
Shortly after the van Rossem hard fork was completed, Intersect reported that the network experienced a delay of nearly 10 minutes before the first block was generated. Although the delay was initially noticeable, it proved to be temporary. The site reliability engineering team and core engineering team continue to monitor abnormal conditions and wait for the network to stabilize.
As blockchain enters a new era, block generation returns to normal. The first block appeared less than 15 seconds after the beginning of the New Era, which is exactly in line with the typical 20-second average block interval goal. No technical issues were observed and the network remained stable throughout the transition period.
Based on an Intersect update, block production after van Rossem's hard fork returned to normal parameter ranges after a short initial delay.
