U.S. spot bitcoin ETF attracted US$853.54 million last week

From August 3 to August 7, U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted a total of US$853.54 million, with net inflows recorded per trading day, indicating that capital is returning to regulated cryptocurrency products. This wave of capital inflows for five consecutive days set a record for the highest net inflow of Bitcoin ETF in a single week since mid-April. Among them, BlackRock's IBIT fund led the way with US$693.64 million, Fidelity's FBTC fund followed closely with a net inflow of US$116.38 million, and ARK21 Shares's ARKB fund recorded US$50.85 million.

At the end of the ETF trading week, Bitcoin prices hovered around US$65,000, and also remained in this range in early trading on Monday (August 10). Although fund demand has rebounded significantly, there has been no corresponding breakthrough in the underlying assets.

Bitcoin ETF has net inflows for five consecutive trading days

Bitcoin funds have a strong start this week: net inflows on August 3 were US$170.09 million, and on August 4 were US$211.49 million, and on August 5, the net inflows were US$244.42 million. Another $128.69 million was added on August 6, and then the market ended with $98.85 million on Friday (August 7). Thursday's trading extended the net inflow of Bitcoin ETFs to four consecutive days, with BlackRock dominating the issuance of new funds; Friday completed the first full-week trading week of net inflow in August.

This round of inflows follows a seven-day net inflow cycle in July, when Bitcoin funds accumulated approximately US$981 million between July 14 and 22. According to a fund data sheet independently compiled by Farside, the total net inflow from August 3 to 7 was slightly higher, at US$865.3 million, due to differences between its statistics on August 6 and 7 and the SoSoValue series.

Ethereum ETF continues its net inflow momentum to the fifth week

During the same period, the spot Ethereum ETF had a net inflow of US$244.94 million in five trading days, extending the single-week net inflow record to five consecutive weeks, setting the longest consecutive net inflow cycle for this type of product since 2026. Among them, BlackRock's ETHA fund attracted approximately US$203 million, and Fidelity's FETH fund had a net inflow of US$24.15 million. The week started with net redemptions of $11.9 million, and then inflows accelerated: net inflows of $53.1 million on Tuesday,$60.8 million on Wednesday,$92.1 million on Thursday, and $49.6 million on Friday.

Bitcoin and Ethereum funds had simultaneously resumed net inflows as early as mid-July, when the two products together attracted US$239.42 million in funds in a single trading day. Ethereum prices were close to $1625 in early trading Monday.

HYPE leads the net inflow of other small cryptocurrency ETFs

Other cryptocurrency funds other than Bitcoin and Ethereum remain small. The Hyperliquid spot ETF had a net inflow of $2.84 million, ending a previous three-week net redemption cycle that had resulted in outflows of more than $30 million from these products. The net inflow of XRP ETF was US$1.01 million, the net inflow of Solana-related products was approximately US$144,900, and the net inflow of DOGE funds was approximately US$80,000. However, products such as BNB, LINK, LTC, AVAX, HBAR and DOT showed no net inflow this week in the SoSoValue series of data.

At the end of the week, the combined net inflow of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs was approximately US$1.1 billion, of which more than three-quarters went to Bitcoin products.
