Binance released its 44th certificate of reserve report: Bitcoin positions increased, while Ethereum and USDT decreased.
Binance released its 44th certificate of reserve report. Data showed that customers 'Bitcoin positions increased in June, while the balances of Ethereum and TEDA fell.
Summary
The latest snapshot shows that Binance users 'Bitcoin positions increased by 1.22% in June, with a total increase of 7715 BTC. The balances of Ethereum and TEDA declined, and Binance continued to release reserve data on a monthly basis for customer verification. Reserve snapshots only reflect the account balance and cannot indicate whether the user is buying, selling or withdrawing cash.
The snapshot date used in this report is July 1 and is compared with the customer balance data on June 1. Customer Bitcoin positions increased by 1.22%, to approximately 640,000 BTC, an increase of 7715; Ethereum positions decreased by 1.41%, to approximately 4.08 million ETH, a decrease of 58591; customer TEDA positions decreased by 1.51%, to approximately 33.7 billion USDTs, a decrease of approximately 510 million USDTs.
Binance customers 'Bitcoin positions continue to rise
July data continued the upward trend of Bitcoin balances in the previous month. In Binance's 43rd Reserve Certificate Report, users added 25838 BTC in May, and the total number of positions increased by 4.26% to approximately 630,000 BTC. Although the latest increase is less than the previous month, customer BTC balances still maintain rising. The report does not show whether the changes come from purchases, deposits, internal Binance transfers or other asset conversions. It only records balances at a certain point in time, not individual customer activities.
Ethereum and USDT balance drops
Ethereum's trend was reversed from the previous month, after customer ETH positions increased significantly by 10.17% in May to approximately 4.14 million ETH. A July snapshot showed that the total number decreased by 58591 ETH in June. The USDT balance also fell for the second consecutive month. In the snapshot on June 1, Binance users held approximately 34.3 billion USDTs, which had decreased by approximately 460 million in May; the latest data further dropped to approximately 33.7 billion USDTs. A decline in the stablecoin balance does not confirm that a user has converted USDT into Bitcoin or withdrawn cash.
Similar situations have recently occurred on other major exchanges. According to previous reports, Bybit and OKX both recorded an increase in customer Bitcoin positions in the latest reserve snapshot, while a decline in USDT balances. However, the report did not explain the reason for the change in the balance.
Binance said that customer assets still have sufficient reserves.
Binance stated on its reserve proof page that it holds customer assets at a 1:1 ratio and increases additional reserves. The exchange uses Merkel Tree and zero-knowledge certification technology to allow customers to check whether their account balances are included in the total liabilities covered in each report. The proof of reserves report can show whether the listed wallets hold assets corresponding to the customer's balance at the snapshot point, but it does not provide a complete financial audit or explain all off-chain liabilities. A recent certificate of reserves stated that useful disclosures should be kept current, frequent, and matched with customer liabilities.
Therefore, these data should be regarded as a record of asset reserves and customer balances on a specific date, and they do not reflect the complete financial situation of the exchange, nor do they explain why customers transfer assets between accounts, platforms or private wallets.
Report release background: Binance has undergone many changes recently
Before the release of the latest reserves report, Binance experienced an active month of derivatives trading. Data showed that Binance futures trading volume in June was approximately US$1.63 trillion, setting a record for a single month in 2026. In addition, with the EU MiCA regulatory transition period ending on July 1, Binance has also adjusted the services of some European users. According to previous reports, the exchange stated that affected users can continue to use the options they have been notified of, including the withdrawal function if available. This date is consistent with the snapshot time used for the latest reserve report.
Early reserve rankings put Binance ahead of other major exchanges. Data shows that Binance ranked first in January 2026 with reserve assets of approximately US$155.6 billion. The July report added a new perspective on monthly customer balances, with BTC rising while ETH and USDT falling.
