Peter Brandt won't easily call out the bottom signal.
This senior commodity trader with more than 50 years of chart reading experience posted a post on the X platform that attracted 133,000 views in a few hours. This is not because he claims that the bottom has been reached, but because of the shape he describes that may be emerging.
"Very, very unusual," Brant wrote,"but this chart may be brewing a top-down pattern. We are not sure yet." This cautious wording is as important as the observation itself.
What does the inverted head and shoulder shape mean?
The inverted head and shoulder shape is one of the most widely recognized inversion shapes in technical analysis. It was formed during the market's three consecutive bottoms, with the middle low point lower than the sides, forming a contour similar to inverted heads and shoulders. When prices break through the neckline that connects the two peaks of the pattern, it traditionally signals a shift from bearish to bullish.
This form has had a good success rate in the past, but it has often failed. This is why Brant's sentence "We can't be sure yet" became the most critical part of his post.
Where Bitcoin is currently located
Bitcoin is currently trading at approximately US$63,000, down approximately 50% from the all-time high of US$126,000 set in October 2025. The Fear and Greed Index has fallen into the zone of extreme fear. The spot Bitcoin ETF recorded a $4.9 billion outflow in the past quarter, setting a record for the worst in history. Three consecutive quarters of negative returns left most retail investors either exhausted or plunged into losses.
It is this background that makes Brant's observations interesting rather than general. Bottom patterns often form in similar market environments.
Pattern still needs to be confirmed
Brandt did not predict that the market would rise soon. He is pointing to a pattern that could make sense-provided Bitcoin holds its current price and builds the right structure in the next few weeks. The neckline has not been broken and the shape has not yet been confirmed. Until confirmed, this is just one possible interpretation on the chart, and the market could still evolve in either direction.
Brandt has seen enough markets to understand the difference between "form brewing" and "signal confirmation." At this moment, he only called it the former.
