CoreWeave (CRWV) shares opened at $77.12 on Thursday, well below a 52-week high of $153.20. At the same time, Chief Financial Officer Nitin Agrawal reduced his holdings of $5.5 million in shares, further exacerbating active trading among insiders and attracting market attention.
On July 13, Agrawal cleared 65,055 shares of Class A common stock through transactions at prices between US$83.26 and US$88.25. These reductions were implemented through a 10b5 -1 trading plan originally established in August 2025 and subsequently revised in November 2025.
After the transaction was completed, Agrawal directly held 128,716 Class A common shares. In addition, its indirect shareholding includes 34,905 shares controlled by his spouse, 81,000 shares held by Yellowstone 2025 GRAT, and 57,952 shares held by Yosemite 2025 GRAT.
The chief financial officer's reduction represents only a small part of broader insider activity. In the past 90 days, company insiders have sold a total of 22.5 million shares, with a total value of approximately $2.63 billion. Among them, it is noteworthy that major shareholder Magnetar Financial reduced its holdings of approximately 1.28 million shares at an average price of US$119.91 in May, reducing its shareholding by nearly 83%. Director Jack Cogan also reduced his holdings of 986,540 shares at an average trading price of $107.80 at the end of May, with total gains of more than $106 million.
Wall Street remains cautiously optimistic
Analysts 'sentiment on the stock remains relatively positive despite massive selling activity. Among the 35 research institutions tracking CRWV, 21 maintain buy recommendations, 12 recommend hold, and only 2 recommend sell. The consensus target price for the next 12 months is US$139.69, which has nearly 100% room to rise from current trading levels.
Evercore and Rosenblatt both remain bullish. Evercore gives it an "outperform" rating with a target price of $150. Rosenblatt was more optimistic and maintained a "Buy" rating with a price target of $250. Wolfe Research recently reiterated its "outperform" rating with a price target of $150 and pointed to higher capital expenditure expectations for fiscal 2026.
In terms of pessimism, Sanford C. Bernstein maintains a "weaker-than-market" rating. DA Davidson recently lowered its price target to $100 from $175 while maintaining a "neutral" stance.
Revenue growth is strong, but losses are further widening.
The company's latest quarterly results show that revenue reached US$2.08 billion, a year-on-year increase of 111.6%. Despite strong revenue growth, CoreWeave lost $1.40 per share, which fell short of analysts 'expectations for a loss of $1.17 per share.
Wall Street analysts expect the company to remain at a loss throughout the fiscal year, predicting earnings per share of-4.57. The company's asset-liability ratio was 3.68 and its current ratio was 0.31, indicating a tight short-term liquidity situation.
In terms of institutional positions, many large funds have increased their holdings. Vanguard Group increased its holdings by 275.6% in the fourth quarter and currently controls nearly 28 million shares. Deutsche Bank significantly increased its holdings in the same quarter, with an increase of more than 22,000%.
Investors are mainly concerned about competitive pressures-especially as Meta Platforms is building a cloud infrastructure business to sell AI computing power-as well as high debt levels, customer concentration risk and volatile semiconductor prices.
CRWV's 50-day moving average is currently US$102.32 and its 200-day moving average is US$95.37. The stock was at a 52-week low of $63.80.
