Japanese logistics giant AZ-COM Maruwa will use JPYC stablecoin payment partners
Japan's well-known logistics company AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings will soon start using the yen-anchored stablecoin JPYC to make payments to approximately 2300 business partners. This marks one of the first cases in which large-scale Japanese companies have adopted yen-denominated stablecoins.
Application of JPYC stablecoins
This program aims to simplify the fee payment process, especially for independent contractors responsible for transportation logistics (such as truck drivers). Since stablecoin transactions do not require traditional bank transfer fees, it is expected to increase efficiency and enable faster and more frequent payments.
JPYC is issued by financial technology company JPYC Inc., which focuses on building blockchain-based yen payment solutions and is committed to expanding the practical application of digital yen in various business fields.
Small Dictionary: JPYC is a stablecoin pegged to the yen issued by JPYC Inc. It is specially designed for digital payments and settlements and enables instant, low-fee transactions in Japan's regulatory environment.
JPYC Inc. founder and CEO Noritaka Okabe said that the two sides plan to use the stablecoin to strengthen the integration of logistics and commercial payment systems. Noritaka Okabe said: "We will continue to promote the integration of logistics and commercial payment flows on the JPYC platform."
Strategic Cooperation and Investment
AZ-COM Maruwa is also exploring a formal partnership with JPYC Inc., considering investing more than 1 billion yen (approximately US$6.2 million). The move demonstrates the growing interest of the business community in using blockchain technology to optimize operational payments and capital flows.
The company's decision could set a precedent for other Japanese companies seeking alternatives to traditional payment methods, especially in the logistics and supply chain areas where small transactions need to be settled frequently.
About AZ-COM Maruwa
AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings is a medium-sized logistics service provider, and Amazon Japan is one of its important customers. The company provides a wide range of transportation and distribution services nationwide.
Amid the general trend of using JPYC stablecoins for commercial payments, Japanese financial institutions and companies are increasingly trying to adopt blockchain-based solutions, reflecting the trend of digitalization of yen transactions.
