RLUSD expands AI payment role with Google and Mastercard protocol support

Chandler Fang predicts that through x402 integration, RLUSD can drive millions of agent merchants in an interoperable payment network supported by compatible protocols.

The launch of the Korea Exchange and the XRPL AI Getting Started Toolkit further expand RLUSD's application scenarios for automated digital payments in multiple services.

Ripple joined the Linux Foundation's x402 Foundation with Google, MasterCard and several corporate partners, strengthening the adoption of RLUSD in artificial intelligence business infrastructure.

Ripple USD (RLUSD) is expanding its role in the field of artificial intelligence-driven payments by supporting payment protocols from Google and Mastercard. According to t54ai co-founder Chandler Fang, the stablecoin's compatibility with x402 and mainstream proxy standards is expected to eventually support hundreds or even millions of AI-driven merchants and digital services.

Fang pointed out in a post on the X platform that RLUSD already supports x402 while remaining compatible with mainstream proxy payment protocols. He explained that as companies increasingly adopt artificial intelligence-driven financial services, this combination has laid a more solid foundation for stablecoins.

His remarks coincided with the growing influence of RLUSD in the Korean market. After launching Coinone and Korbit earlier, the stablecoin recently obtained trading qualifications from Upbit and Bithumb. At this point, users can use RLUSD through South Korea's four major cryptocurrency exchanges.

In addition to expanding the reach of exchanges, Ripple is also developing infrastructure to enable artificial intelligence agents to complete financial transactions on XRP ledgers. This strategy reflects the company's efforts to position RLUSD as payments beyond traditional stablecoin.

Ripple strengthens RLUSD with AI payment infrastructure

RLUSD also meets payment scenarios that require stable dollar-denominated value. Companies can use the stablecoin for payroll payments, invoice settlement, subscription services, and agent-to-agent transactions without having to bear significant risk of price fluctuations.

Enterprise adoption drives expansion of RLUSD ecosystem

Ripple also extends RLUSD to corporate payment platforms through strategic integration. Earlier this month, Nuvion, an AI-powered banking and cross-border payment platform, incorporated RLUSD into its infrastructure for businesses and fintech companies. This integration expands the usefulness of stablecoins in cross-border payments and artificial intelligence financial applications.

In addition, RLUSD benefits from the existing payment infrastructure of the XRP ledger. The same trading mechanism that supports XRP also handles RLUSD transfers, while the XRPL decentralized exchange allows users to exchange stablecoins for other supported digital assets.

Ripple has also joined the x402 Foundation, a subsidiary of the Linux Foundation, along with Google, Mastercard, Visa, Amazon Web Services and more than 35 other organizations. The initiative aims to establish open payment standards for artificial intelligence agents and Internet applications, adopting an interoperable payment framework.
