Monthly inflows hit a record, with positions exceeding 5.2 million LINKS
According to Chainlink's monthly update, the Chainlink Reserve Bank received its largest monthly inflow of funds in history in July, with 706,809 new LINKS (worth more than US$5.7 million). At present, the total open position has exceeded 5.21 million coins, a milestone that is only a few days away from the first anniversary of the launch of the reserve bank (August 7).
The reserve will be officially launched on August 7, 2025 as part of the Chainlink Economics 2.0 upgrade plan. Since then, the accumulation curve has climbed sharply: it exceeded 1 million LINK in early December 2025, reached 3.9 million in May 2026, and now it has reached 5.21 million. All positions can be verified through the public panel.
How the repository is built
The Chainlink repository is designed to support the long-term growth and sustainability of the Chainlink network by accumulating LINK tokens. Its funding sources include off-chain income generated by large companies adopting Chainlink standards, as well as on-chain service royalties. Through a payment abstraction mechanism, these off-chain and on-chain revenue are converted into LINK.
Payment abstraction is an on-chain infrastructure that allows users to pay Chainlink service fees in their preferred payment method (such as Gas tokens or stablecoins), thereby reducing payment friction. These payments are then automatically converted to LINK using a combination of Chainlink services and decentralized exchange infrastructure.
Sources of revenue for the reserve bank include Chainlink Data Streams service fees and Aave's share of clearing revenue captured through the Chainlink Intelligent Value Recovery (SVR) mechanism. As the first user of Chainlink SVR, Aave enjoys a 65/35 share of clearing MEV revenue during a six-month discount period-65% of which goes to the Aave community and 35% to the Chainlink ecosystem.
Unlike token destruction, all accumulated LINKS are stored in a public and time-locked Ethereum contract rather than removed from circulation. In contrast to the emissions-based token economy model, the system uses real income to purchase LINK, directly linking corporate adoption and on-chain activities to token demand. Since its launch, weekly inflows have continued to grow, reflecting the increasing activity of enterprise applications and chain activities.
