Heavy news on XRP in July: RLUSD expansion, AI applications and institutional adoption
July is a month with frequent events for Ripple. This article will review several key developments, including the expansion of stablecoin business, the improvement of institutional infrastructure, and the participation of AI agents, a milestone event in the XRP ledger ecosystem. This article focuses mainly on Ripple itself, rather than its native tokens or price movements.
RLUSD enters new markets
Although the news was officially announced at the end of June, it only became a hot topic in early July. Ripple has expanded the coverage of its dollar-pegged stablecoin RLUSD by partnering with OpenUSD to become one of the first integrators. The company said the move demonstrates the team's commitment to multi-chain infrastructure and aims to support institutional adoption across the cryptocurrency space.
In addition, the Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA) has approved the use of RLUSD in Japan through SBI VC Trade. These two developments mark another step in Ripple's efforts over the years to position RLUSD as a regulated global payments and tokenized financial stablecoin.
Ripple celebrated Independence Day in the United States, highlighting the "Giving4th" event, donating RLUSD to non-profit organizations, aiming to demonstrate the practical value of stablecoins in the real world.
Earlier this week, an executive from Ripple's stablecoin business pointed out that RLUSD has been launched on South Korea's four major exchanges-Upbit, Bithumb, Kbit and Coinone. The asset continues to grow in terms of use and market value, with a market value of US$1.6 billion as of August 1.
Enterprise Infrastructure Expansion
Ripple has also launched a platform called Ripple Mint, which aims to help financial institutions issue, manage and redeem RLUSD more efficiently. The launch of the platform complements its growing payment ecosystem and reflects the company's increasing emphasis on serving banks, fintech companies and corporate customers entering the cryptocurrency space.
In addition, Ripple announced a strategic investment in Notabene, which focuses on compliance and payment infrastructure. The cooperation aims to improve regulated cross-border payments while promoting wider adoption of Ripple stablecoins.
In July, Binance once again expanded its support for RLUSD, providing new promotions for the asset and increasing its visibility on the platform.
AI activity on the XRP ledger is heating up
On-chain analysis data shows that as of July 22, the number of transactions initiated by AI agents in the XRP ledger has exceeded 1.4 million. Analysts and experts point out that this highlights the increasing number of experiments in autonomous applications and machine-to-machine payments.
Although the field is still in its early stages, this milestone shows that developers are increasingly exploring use cases for XRP ledgers beyond traditional payments and token transfers.
