Ripple helps ZILO and Licuido expand XRPL tokenization scale

Ripple strategically invests in two British fintech companies to deepen XRPL's institutional capital markets layout

Ripple has made strategic investments in two British fintech companies, ZILO and Licuido, to further promote its institutional capital markets business on XRP Ledger (XRPL). The investment was announced on August 3 and two British companies were included in Ripple's XRPL-based digital capital markets strategy.

The value ZILO and Licuido bring to XRPL

These two companies each fill different but complementary gaps in the institutional tokenization stack.

ZILO is a UK-based, AI-driven technology company focusing on global asset and wealth management software. The company provides regulated transfer agencies and fund management technology to provide compliant ownership records and operating infrastructure to asset managers and custodians to support institutional tokenized funds. Its platform can track legal ownership in real time during asset transfers, allowing institutions to extend the use of digital assets to collateral, margin, repurchase and treasury workflows.

Licuido has previously provided tokenized infrastructure for Aviva Investors 'U.S. dollar liquidity funds launched on XRPL, but this time it covers distribution and trading. Its platform is responsible for token issuance, distribution and secondary transactions, and tokenized fund units are designed to be used as collateral. Licuido Markets Limited is the designated representative of Sapeno Partners LLP, which is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.

RLUSD as settlement tier

Ripple's U.S. dollar supports the stablecoin RLUSD as a regulated settlement asset for coupon transactions, allowing tokenized assets to be immediately used as collateral while reducing counterparty risk through simultaneous settlement. Under this model, tokenized assets and payments are settled simultaneously on XRPL rather than being transferred through separate systems at different times.

These investments follow broader institutional momentum on XRPL. Ripple and Aviva Investors launched the tokenized share category of the Aviva Investors Dollar Liquidity Fund on the XRPL on July 29, 2026, which is the first tokenized fund structure approved by the Central Bank of Ireland to be issued on a public blockchain.

Ripple views tokenization as the starting point, and its institutional platform combines token issuance, secure custody, collateral management, multi-currency investment capabilities, and atomic settlement. Ripple does not disclose specific investment amounts, so the financial terms and resulting ownership ratios are not yet transparent to investors.
