Solana promotes SP3ND, USDC shopping fully unifies the Internet

SP3ND expands USDC shopping beyond Amazon and eBay

SP3ND has launched a Chrome extension that allows users to use USDC to make payments on the open Internet, which goes far beyond its original checkout service for Amazon and eBay. SP3ND processes orders for cryptocurrency holders in more than 48 countries, accepting SOL, USDC and other Solana tokens as payment methods. The extension eliminates the common cumbersome step of users exchanging cryptocurrency for fiat before consumption. For orders under $10,000, no KYC certification is required, and wallet screening is limited to OFAC compliance inspections. SP3ND never holds user funds. Shoppers pay directly from their wallets, while SP3ND uses its own funds to purchase and deliver goods. This unmanaged structure is the core selling point of the product: no withdrawal channels, no intermediaries, and no credit cards.

Solana and Yakovenko expressed support

This release has significant support from the Solana ecosystem. Solana's official account expanded the dissemination of the announcement, and co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko also forwarded the news, bringing important exposure to a project dedicated to turning stablecoins into daily consumption currencies. The endorsement comes at a time when Solana's stablecoin infrastructure is rapidly maturing. Solana has the second-largest USDC pool after Ethereum and has become the preferred platform for payment applications and DeFi protocols that require stablecoin transfers (charged in cents). The network's low-cost, fast confirmation and mobile-friendly tools make stablecoin payments an attractive application scenario on a retail scale. SP3ND's expansion to open Internet checkout puts it at the intersection of these trends, providing direct consumer applications for on-chain dollar spending at a time when institutional and individual interest in USDC on Solana is accelerating.
