Cardano prices traded around US$0.20 on August 7 and have risen more than 25% in the past week, with technical momentum and network updates supporting the rebound.

Summary

ADA rose more than 25% in seven days, briefly breaking through US$0.21. The 4-hour chart shows immediate support at $0.195, followed by $0.184. The 3rd liquidation heat chart shows dense leveraged positions around US$0.196 - 0.198. Bulls must break through the $0.207 - 0.210 region to extend their gains to $0.22.

Cardano prices remain stable after a 25% gain

According to data, Cardano (ADA) was trading at around $0.201 at the time of writing, having previously hit intraday highs of around $0.204. ADA briefly broke through $0.21 in earlier trading, before selling pulled it back to near the psychological level of $0.20.

This seven-day rally marks a sharp contrast to the weak performance of most of 2026. The ADA fell from above $0.45 at the end of last year to about $0.14 in June before forming a bottom.

The daily chart shows that the token has now exceeded the super-trend resistance level of $0.171. The indicator has turned to support, indicating that the broader recovery trend remains intact as long as ADA trading is above the US$0.168 - 0.171 region.

Aron indicator readings are also good for buyers. Aron's rising line was 92.86%, while Aron's declining line was 28.57%, indicating that recent highs are more dominant than recent lows. However, the ADA has not yet closed well above $0.20 on the daily line, leaving the breakthrough still at risk of a retest.

Network updates and whale demand support ADA

This rebound coincides with renewed interest in the Cardano development roadmap. Intersect said that after completing the Van Rossem hard fork in July, the network has entered the Dijkstra development era. Market attention has also turned to the Ouroboros Leios upgrade plan, which aims to improve Cardano's transaction processing capabilities. In addition, a proposed 2.5 million ADA development fund and Cardano's IBC testnet connection to Injective further raises market expectations for broader ecological activities.

On-chain data cited during the rebound showed that large holders had increased their holdings of approximately 240 million ADAs before the breakthrough. Futures activity also accelerated, with weekly trading volume reported to rise from about $150 million to nearly $650 million. This combination of spot pumping and leveraged positions helped ADA break through $0.20. However, the decline in open interest and slightly negative funding rates suggest that some derivatives traders are still betting that prices will not rise further.

Fundamental weaknesses still exist. The total value locked in Cardano's decentralized financial ecosystem is approximately US$68 million, far behind other large Layer 1 networks. This gap increases the risk that the speed of price speculation will exceed the speed of actual activity on the chain.

Can ADA hold the US$0.20 support level?

The 4-hour chart shows that the ADA is in a rising channel starting from around $0.15 in late July. Prices are still $0.195 above the middle rail of the Bollinger Band, making the $0.195 - 0.20 range the first test for bulls.

The 4-hour relative strength index is 60.19, and its signal line is 58.71. The momentum is still high, but it has not reached the 70 level usually associated with overbought. ADA's Bollinger Band is on track at about $0.207. A break above that level could allow bulls to re-test $0.21-a level that has encountered selling pressure in the recent rally. Subsequently, the upper boundary of the channel points to the $0.218 - 0.22 area.

A decisive breakthrough of US$0.22 may expose the US$0.24 - 0.25 range to view. Rand Group said recovering $0.25 would be necessary to confirm Cardano's full reversal from its annual downtrend. "Recovering the key 25-cent support range will trigger a full bullish reversal," the agency noted in a market report on August 7.

The daily structure explains why $0.25 is crucial. Cardano has rebounded from June lows, but remains in a larger downward trend after falling more than 90% since its all-time high of $3.10.

Clearing clusters increase volatility risk

CoinGlass's 3-day liquidation heat chart shows a large concentration area of leveraged positions around US$0.196 - 0.198 (slightly below current market prices). This area overlaps with the middle track of the 4-hour Bollinger Band, strengthening its role as an immediate support level. A fall below US$0.195 may trigger long liquidation and accelerate the price's decline towards US$0.19. The four-hour Bollinger Band is close to $0.184, which will be the next major technical support level if selling takes control of the situation. A break below this level would invalidate the rising channel and redirect attention back to US$0.171 and US$0.168 near the daily supertrend indicator.

Liquidity is also above the ADA, around the US$0.207 - 0.210 region, followed by additional clusters between US$0.212 - 0.218. If the bulls recover $0.207, short liquidations could help push prices to test their weekly highs again.

For U.S. traders, expectations of future Fed interest rate cuts remain a broader market catalyst. Cardano also faces an October 23 regulatory deadline related to proposed spot ADA exchange-traded funds, which could keep institutional access and U.S. regulatory expectations at the forefront.

The short-term outlook depends on whether the ADA can convert US$0.20 from resistance to support. Holding on to $0.195 will maintain a 4-hour uptrend, while a close above $0.21 will strengthen the case for a move towards $0.22 and ultimately $0.25. Conversely, a loss of $0.195 will increase the probability of a deeper correction to $0.184.
