XRP ledger ushers in a new version
XRP ledger operators have confirmed the release of version 3.3.0, bringing a total of six amendments to be verified, while significantly improving performance. This update covers multiple core areas of the network, covering multiple aspects such as privacy protection, transaction execution, fee management and asset issuance.
Confidential transfers and encrypted balances
This feature introduces an encrypted Multi-Purpose Token (MPT) balance and transfer mechanism on the ledger. Users are able to conduct transactions with greater privacy, an ability that institutional participants and privacy-minded users have long pursued on public blockchain networks.
Atomic execution through bulk transactions
The "bulk transactions" amendment allows users to package up to 8 transactions into one atomic operation. Atomic execution means that all transactions in a batch either succeed or fail, and no partial execution occurs. The amendment also supports four different execution modes, giving developers flexibility to build complex operations. This is an important step for applications that require sequential or conditional trading logic.
Sponsorship Fees and Reserves
The " Sponsorship " amendment introduces a Sponsorship fee and reserve mechanism. Third parties may pay transaction costs on behalf of other accounts. This lowers the entry threshold for new users, especially those who don't hold enough XRP to meet reserve requirements or pay independently. It opens the door to building a smoother entry experience based on ledgers.
Delegation of authority for account security
Through "delegation of authority", account holders can allow other accounts to send only certain types of transactions. Fine control of account permissions reduces risks in multi-party collaboration scenarios. Developers developing managed tools, automation systems, or delegation frameworks can now obtain a native mechanism to restrict the actual operating rights of delegated accounts.
Variable MPT attributes and dynamic MPT
"Dynamic MPT" gives publishers the ability to modify MPT attributes after release. Previously, certain token parameters were fixed at the time of creation. The amendment provides flexibility for issuers who need to update token configurations as business needs change.
Comprehensive upgrade of ledgers
The "fix cleanup" amendment packages multiple technical fixes into one voteable package. This approach integrates smaller protocol level amendments to keep the amendment process efficient.
In addition to the amendments, xrpld 3.3.0 also achieves a reduction in memory usage of at least 10% to 15%, which may be even greater depending on node configuration. Node synchronization performance has also been improved. Operators running verified nodes or full-history nodes will benefit from both improvements, as reduced memory load and faster synchronization speeds directly contribute to network stability and accessibility.
