XRP Summary
Solana joined XRP Ledger's native decentralized exchange with Axelar's wrapped SOL (wrapped SOL), expanding cross-chain trading options on multiple supported XRPL platforms.
XRP has previously entered the Solana ecosystem through wXRP issued by Hex Trust, supporting DeFi applications on multiple networks and trading with Ripple's RLUSD stablecoins.
Vet warns users about counterfeit encapsulated SOL tokens and urges traders to verify Axelar's issuer address and verification mark before completing an XRPL transaction.
Solana joins XRP Ledger's native decentralized exchange
Solana has joined XRP Ledger's native decentralized exchange, further expanding the range of major crypto assets available in the XRPL ecosystem. According to Hussein Zangana (also known as Vet), community director of the XRP Ledger Foundation, Axelar has released a packaged SOL that supports this integration.
Users can now make SOL redemption through XRPL-based platforms such as XPMarket, First Ledger, and Magnetic. In addition, Xaman Wallet also provides direct access to the asset through its Swap widget.
Axelar's participation allows SOL to run in XRP Ledger applications without replacing original assets on its native blockchain. As a result, this integration creates another link between two blockchain ecosystems that have established cross-chain connections.
XRP has previously entered the Solana ecosystem by encapsulating XRP (or wXRP). Hex Trust released the encapsulated asset on Solana in April this year, expanding XRP's access to multiple decentralized financial applications. Supported platforms include Jupiter, Phantom, Titan Exchange and Meteora. In addition, wXRP can trade with Ripple's RLUSD stablecoins and run on multiple supported blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Optimism, Solana, and HyperEVM. The latest SOL integration actually extends this cross-chain relationship in the opposite direction by bringing Solana liquidity to XRPL.
Vet warns users against counterfeit encapsulated SOL tokens on XRPL
While announcing the integration, Vet issued an important warning reminding users of fraudulent tokens that may mimic legally encapsulated SOL on XRP Ledger. He made it clear that Axelar is currently the only legally supported encapsulated SOL publisher in the XRPL ecosystem.
Several platforms have added verification flags to help users distinguish legitimate assets from potential counterfeits. These platforms include XPMarket, First Ledger, Magnetic and Xaman Wallet. Vet also shared an XRPScan screenshot showing the verified issuer account name as "Axelar Bridge." It is worth noting that the account carries a verification flag that helps users confirm that they are interacting with an approved issuer.
Very important: This is currently the only legal issuer. Beware of counterfeiting, all the platforms mentioned above have added a verification flag 
to the token for easier identification.

However, Vet warns traders not to rely solely on the abbreviation or display name of the token to confirm its authenticity. Counterfeit assets can replicate familiar names and symbols, but use a completely different issuer account. Therefore, users should check the issuer's address before completing any transaction and compare these details with reliable sources. Verification is particularly important as more externally issued assets become available through the XRP Ledger application.
The addition of Solana expands the cross-chain asset options available through XRPL's native decentralized exchanges. At the same time, Vet's warning also highlights the security responsibilities that accompany broader access to encapsulated cryptocurrencies. This integration strengthens the existing connection between Solana and XRP Ledger while providing XRPL users with another decentralized trading asset. Axelar's verified publisher information remains key to identifying legitimately encapsulated SOL on supported platforms.
