Injective Becomes SEC Registered Transfer Agent to Drive Tokenization Process

Injective Institutional Services is registered as a transfer agent with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

Injective Institutional Services, a subsidiary of the Injective blockchain ecosystem, announced on August 19 that it has registered as a transfer agent with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The registration gives it the regulated function of maintaining securities ownership records and processing ownership changes, a role that is at the heart of traditional securities market infrastructure.

Transfer agents are a fundamental part of the operation of the U.S. securities market. They are responsible for maintaining official records of securities ownership and handling ownership transfers, dividends and corporate behavior. Effective said that combining this feature with blockchain technology will make transactions faster, more transparent, and easier to automate.

Aggressive plans to integrate transfer agent roles with tokenization platforms

The company plans to integrate transfer agent registrations with its tokenized asset issuance and management platform, Aggressive Mint. This combination will allow Injective to handle both the issuance of tokenized securities and regulated record-keeping on a single blockchain infrastructure. In a post posted on Platform X on August 19, Effective stated that it was "the first Layer 1 blockchain to have the RWA infrastructure and regulatory readiness needed to accelerate tokenization."

Effective filed an application for registration as a transfer agent with the SEC in July 2026. Prior to this registration, its real-world asset (RWA) tokenization business has expanded to include markets that provide digital assets, treasury bonds, stocks and pre-IPO corporate exposure. In October 2025, Aggressive launched a pre-IPO perpetual contract to provide exposure to private companies, including OpenAI.

INJ token rose 8% after announcement

Injective's native token, INJ, rose 8% at the time of announcement, with a market value of approximately US$450 million. The registration comes at a time when institutions 'interest in tokenization is accelerating, and traditional financial companies are increasingly exploring blockchain-based issuance, trading and settlement infrastructure.

Aggressive is a Layer 1 blockchain focused on decentralized finance (DeFi), incubated by Binance. Its supporters include Jump Crypto, Pantera Capital and Mark Cuban. The SEC's transfer agent registration allows Injective to move beyond asset issuance and trading levels and into the regulated infrastructure area that determines the legal ownership of securities in the U.S. market.
