ICP Dfinity adds open SaaS services to its expanding cloud roadmap
@ The Dfinity Foundation is expanding further into the enterprise space. In addition to upcoming cloud engine products, founder Dominic Williams announced that the Internet Computer ($ICP) Protocol is preparing to launch an "open SaaS" suite that includes dozens of on-chain services designed to allow users to run a complete enterprise directly on the blockchain.
According to Williams 'post on the X platform, every user can customize their own SaaS service through artificial intelligence, which is described as permanently free to use and easy to install. This announcement adds a new layer to @Dfinity's ambitious product push in 2026.
Cloud engines lay the foundation
The open SaaS suite is built on top of cloud engines,@Dfinity's autonomous cloud infrastructure product. The cloud engine is a dedicated private subnet within the ICP ecosystem that can be configured based on specific specifications, allowing users to choose their own security, performance and resilience parameters. This technology allows companies to truly control their infrastructure while maintaining tamper-proof custody guarantees.
The underlying cloud of Internet computers runs software that allows artificial intelligence agents to generate applications, websites and SaaS on demand. The generated applications allow users to make arbitrary requests through a smooth artificial intelligence experience, because artificial intelligence can view internal data and dynamically create logic. The announcement of opening up SaaS seems to transform this vision into a product that any user can deploy.
Emotions around the project increased after @Dfinity announced its upcoming cloud engine plans, with many seeing the announcement as an important step in expanding the role of $ICP in artificial intelligence and decentralized cloud infrastructure. The global cloud infrastructure and platform services market is estimated to be approximately US$781 billion in 2025, and @Dfinity's "Mission 70" white paper clearly positions ICP as a platform that can capture a large share of this market through cloud engines and their "self-written cloud" approach.
For the broader ICP ecosystem, the open SaaS suite shows that @Dfinity is moving from a developer tool to products that appeal to mainstream enterprise users. Its core selling points include on-chain services, artificial intelligence customization, and zero-cost entry barriers.
