ADI Chain and Tangem launch a joint hardware wallet in Virgin Megastores in United Arab Emirates

ADI Chain launched a joint Tangem hardware wallet through Virgin Megastores in United Arab Emirates, bringing offline cryptocurrency self-custody services from one of the country's largest retail chains to the market and supporting ADI Chain ecosystem tokens and mainstream digital assets.

Core Points

ADI Chain and Tangem launched a joint hardware wallet in Virgin Megastores in United Arab Emirates; the wallet supports Bitcoin, Ethereum and ADI Chain eco-tokens, allowing users to manage assets through self-hosting; this release further expands Tangem's retail channels, and the hardware wallet is accelerating its entry into the mainstream consumer market.

According to relevant announcements, this co-branded hardware wallet is now on sale in Virgin Megastores in United Arab Emirates. Consumers can purchase it directly in stores without placing an order online. The wallet supports more than 80 assets on the blockchain network, including Bitcoin, Ethereum and ADI Chain's native tokens. Users can connect to the Tangem mobile application through a smart phone that supports NFC-enabled functionality.

As ADI Chain's first co-branded hardware wallet, this product brings the blockchain network ecosystem into the physical retail environment. Users can activate their wallets in minutes through the Tangem app, manage balances, send and redeem supported assets, and each transaction requires physical swipe authorization. The announcement states that the private key is generated and stored within the card's secure chip, rather than relying on an external server or mobile device.

This cooperation is another move by Tangem to expand its retail network in mainstream consumer stores. The Swiss hardware wallet maker continues to spread its products into mass retail channels: In June this year, its products entered more than 200 Best Buy stores and official websites in the United States, previously covering channels such as Wal-Mart, Amazon and Virgin Megastore.

Retail expansion opens up new distribution channels

In United Arab Emirates, the latest cooperation allows ADI Chain to directly reach the customer flow of the country's well-known e-retailers, rather than relying solely on online sales channels. According to the announcement, the Tangem hardware wallet adopts the form of a contactless smart card, and the private key is stored in a secure embedded chip. The companion mobile app allows users to manage supported cryptocurrencies, but transactions require physical card authorization, creating an offline signature process that ensures that the key remains on the device.

ADI Chain said the wallet supports more than 80 assets on the blockchain network, including Bitcoin, Ethereum and tokens on its own network. The project describes its infrastructure as being developed for institutional users, equipped with compliance tools and policy frameworks, and is designed to serve governments, banks and enterprise-level builders. At the same time, retail versions of wallets extend these security standards to individual users, offering self-managed products through physical shelves rather than professional encryption channels. Tangem claims that since 2017, its hardware has maintained a zero-incident record in more than 6 million equipment shipments.

Ivan Branitskiy, Head of DeFi at ADI Foundation, said the retail collaboration combines institutional-level safety standards with a distribution network that reaches everyday consumers: "ADI Chain is built to the safety and compliance standards expected by institutions;Tangem hardware has a zero incident record on millions of devices; and Virgin Megastores provides us with a direct distribution channel in the most recognized retail environment in the United Arab Emirates." Retail distribution is how we bring more people into the chain, and it all starts with allowing self-managed wallets to appear in retail locations that are easily accessible to consumers."

Darya Karpukova, chief commercial officer of Tangem, said that the company is focusing on making hardware wallets easier to purchase and use, and this cooperation will bring self-hosting into familiar retail scenarios without requiring users to have professional technical knowledge.

Tangem continues to expand products beyond hardware storage

At the same time, before Virgin Megastores was launched on the shelves, Tangem has launched a number of products in the past year, and its business scope continues to expand from basic asset storage. In December 2025, Tangem launched an Aav-based revenue model that allows users to earn revenue directly from USDT, USDC and DAI within the wallet app, while retaining their private keys on the hardware device. This feature deposits supported stablecoins into the Aave liquidity pool through audited smart contracts, eliminating the need for a WalletConnect connection or external decentralized applications. According to Tangem's previous announcement, users retain asset custody rights and can withdraw funds at any time without a lockup period. The company views this integration as a step to add more financial services to the wallet app.

In early 2026, Tangem also expanded its retail coverage in the United States through Best Buy. Its NFC card wallet and Tangem Ring are sold online and in more than 200 stores. At the time, the company said its wallet supported more than 16,000 digital assets on more than 90 blockchain networks, while providing hardware-level protection for private keys.
