XRP ledgers are ready to welcome the AI wave, and RippleX aims to achieve 100 million proxy transact

Breaking the million-mark: RippleX expects AI transactions on XRPL to reach 100 million

XRP ledgers are rapidly becoming the underlying infrastructure of the AI economy. J. Ayo Akinyele, head of engineering at RippleX, predicts that the volume of autonomous agency transactions will soar from a just-exceeded 1 million to between 10 million and 100 million in the next few years.

In Akinyele's view, reaching 1 million transactions is only the beginning, not the end, of a larger growth cycle. He believes that the combination of increasingly powerful AI agents and the constantly improving blockchain infrastructure will drive the explosive growth of autonomous machine-to-machine payments on XRPL.

"I am very pleased to see 1 million transactions on the XRP ledger. But considering the speed of agency technology development and the continuous optimization of infrastructure, I think we will exceed 10 million in the next few years, and possibly even 100 million." he said.

Unlike traditional human-initiated blockchain activities, autonomous proxy transactions are independently executed by AI agents. These systems can purchase APIs, pay for cloud computing fees, subscribe to digital services, settle invoices, and transfer digital assets without human intervention. As AI agents become increasingly complex, the market demand for fast, low-cost, round-the-clock payment infrastructure is expected to accelerate further.

Ripple positions XRP ledger as the payment backbone of the AI economy

Akinyele compares the current situation of AI payments to the early stages of cloud computing-with huge potential but a lack of mature industry standards and tools. "When I think about the state of autonomous proxy payments today, it reminds me of the early days of cloud infrastructure. The potential is obvious, but tools and standards are still being worked in." He explained.

He believes the industry is approaching a turning point. As AI systems communicate and transact with each other, they need payment channels that match the speed of data exchange and are equally efficient. "This is exactly the kind of infrastructure that XRP ledgers are designed to provide." Akinyele added.

Ripple is already actively shaping this future. The company recently became a leading member of the x402 Foundation, a subsidiary of the Linux Foundation, supporting the development of open standards for AI native payments. The x402 protocol enables AI agents to send secure, authenticated payments directly over the Internet, reducing the friction costs of traditional payment systems.

Through the XRPL AI Center, development momentum is also accelerating. The center is an integrated ecosystem that brings together AI agents, developer tools, payment infrastructure, and practical applications on XRP ledgers. By lowering development barriers, the center aims to accelerate the adoption of AI-driven commerce.

Therefore, Ripple's investment in AI payment standards, the launch of the XRPL AI Center, and the rapid growth of autonomous agency transactions all highlight that XRPL is surpassing traditional finance and playing a broader role. If the adoption rate of AI remains at the current level, autonomous software agents are expected to generate tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of on-chain transactions, thus consolidating the status of XRP ledgers as a key infrastructure in the new era of digital commerce.
