Mirae Asset, one of South Korea's largest financial groups, has completed its acquisition of South Korea's cryptocurrency exchange Kbit and renamed it to Digital X. The move establishes Digital X as the core pillar of the broader digital asset strategy for future assets, focusing on tokenizing real-world assets and combining blockchain technology with traditional investment models.

Reshaping Korbit into Digital X

After receiving regulatory approval, Future Assets gained 97.15% ownership of Korbit through its advisory arm. With the completion of the acquisition, the platform has now been renamed Digital X. The rebranding action is part of the group's overall digital finance plan called "Future Assets 3.0", which aims to transform financial services through innovation and technology.

Future Assets combines its professional experience in asset management with Korbit's experience as a pioneer cryptocurrency exchange established in 2013. The strategy does not just focus on cryptocurrency trading, but seeks to develop a broad investment ecosystem based on blockchain assets, security-based tokens and stablecoins.

The new Digital X platform is positioned as a bridge connecting traditional financial products and blockchain native assets. Therefore, the goal of future assets is to make Digital X the core infrastructure of the digital economy, not just a standard cryptocurrency exchange.
