World Foundation raises US$52.5 million through strategic WLD token sale
World Foundation raises US$52.5 million through a strategic WLD token sale. The nonprofit organization will use the funds to promote World ID to businesses, consumer platforms and artificial intelligence services. Pantera Capital led the round of funding, with Bain Capital Crypto, Eightco Holdings, Selini Capital and Susquehanna Crypto also participating in the investment. All tokens sold have a 12-month lock-up period, which limits immediate selling by new investors.
According to data from CoinMarketCap, on July 24, the trading price of WLD fluctuated between US$0.375 and US$0.387, and finally closed around US$0.375. Despite the financing news, the token remained low in various markets. In the short term, cautious market sentiment still overshadowed the impact of the project's latest financing and adoption plans.
However, the price targets and levels discussed in this article are based on technical indicators and should not be regarded as guarantees for future price movements. Due to the high volatility of cryptocurrencies and sharp price fluctuations, investors are recommended to study on their own and consult qualified financial professionals if appropriate.

WLD token sales attract long-term institutional support
According to Wu Blockchain, the WLD token sale has provided new funding to the World Foundation through token financing. The foundation described the deal as a first-round financing led by Pantera Capital. The World Foundation confirmed that all purchased tokens will be locked for one year. This condition prevents participating companies from immediately selling their positions on the public exchange, while also closely tying their interests to the long-term development of the network.
The lock-up period has not eliminated widespread market concerns about the supply of WLD tokens. World's token economy model sets an initial cap of 10 billion coins and plans to gradually unlock them over the next few years. World said that based on existing plans, starting from July 24, 2026, the daily unlock rate will drop by 43%.
The World Foundation plans to use the funds to provide World ID access to organizations, consumers and AI agents. Cosmo Jiang, general partner at Pantera Capital, said that with the development of artificial intelligence,"human-proof" technology is becoming increasingly important.
WLD token sales fund a wider range of World ID enterprise applications
WLD token sales support the World ID system, which is designed to prove that a user is a unique person and that verification can be completed without revealing the user's identity to the platform. Users can obtain an Orb-verified World ID through a one-time iris scan. Orb converts the scan results into verification credentials stored on the user's mobile phone. World said the system provides online services with a way to distinguish humans from automated accounts.

World is also pushing World ID beyond cryptocurrency applications. The project announced integrations with Zoom, DocuSign, Tinder, Okta and Vercel during its 2026 product launch. World ID 4.0 adds new tools that allow developers to create credentials and manage return user sessions.
Internet growth provides a commercial basis for financing through WLD token sales. World said more than 39 million people have joined its network. More than 18 million of them have completed Orb verification, and the system has processed 475 million authentication times. The new capital provides the World Foundation with more resources to support these integrations. Whether companies adopt the technology will depend on whether they believe "human proof" inspections can be effective against robots, fraud and AI-generated activities.
Privacy reviews continue to affect World ID extensions
World ID's biometric model continues to face regulatory restrictions. In May 2025, a Kenyan court ordered the deletion of biometric data collected without taking necessary safeguards. The ruling also limits further processing without a valid data evaluation and obtaining legal consent. Hong Kong's privacy watchdog has previously ordered Worldcoin (WLD) to stop scanning and collecting iris and facial images. European regulators have also raised questions about how some of the project's data are processed, and compliance costs have increased as World enters more markets.
WLD token sales did not trigger a continued rebound in WLD token prices. On July 24, Worldcoin traded at around $0.375, below levels earlier in the day. If the price exceeds US$0.38, short-term momentum may improve; if it falls below US$0.36, it may face further selling pressure. The one-year lock-in period limits short-term selling in this round of financing. Existing token unlocking plans, regulatory decisions, and corporate usage will continue to affect WLD demand.
