The core team of Pi Network explains in detail the newly launched platform model: Providing a liquidity foundation for eco-tokens
The core team of the popular project Pi Network recently disclosed more details about how its platform supports future eco-tokens. They explained that unlike other token issuance methods, where project parties usually retain the funds raised, their model would deposit the promised Pi coins directly into a liquidity pool paired with newly issued ecological assets.
The original intention of this design is to allow each new token to have an active liquidity base from the beginning, while closely binding the token to actual application functions (such as access rights, payments, rewards, governance, and user participation).
Pi's Unique Path The
team revealed the news in an update released hours ago, just days after they confirmed that they had completed the allocation of the testnet token SLICE. With the launch of SLICE, they created a liquidity pool that included new tokens and a beta version of Picoin. Users known as "pioneers" in the Pi Network ecosystem can trade through Pi's decentralized order book.
In addition, trading pairs can also be completed automatically through an automated market maker mechanism. This mechanism dynamically adjusts the token price based on the remaining amount of SLICE and beta Pi coins in the liquidity pool. When a user exchanges the beta version of Pi coins for SLICE, the former enters the pool and the latter flows out. As SLICE becomes scarce relative to the beta version of Pi coins, its displayed price will rise; conversely, when users sell SLICE back into the pool, the price will fall.
The system uses a constant product formula and aims to maintain a balanced relationship between the two reserve assets in each transaction.
More than 240,000 users participated in testing
The participation period of the new token lasted from June 11 to June 28 (Pi2Day). More than 240,000 Pioneer users invested nearly 16 million beta Pi coins to secure a supply of 10 million SLICE test tokens.
What's different from the first Pi Launchpad trial is that SLICE is now connected to a third-party live game called Slice of Pi. This allows the network to test reward mechanisms based on user engagement through a functional application rather than a virtual project.
Theteam explained that this option better reflects the intended use of future eco-tokens because it supports product practicality, attracts new users and encourages active behavior, rather than primarily to raise funds. Users can choose the amount of beta Pi coins they commit to invest, and Launchpad will automatically complete the follow-up work, calculate fair access requirements and any participation rewards. Now that the allocation phase is over, participants can check their allocation limit, initial price, actual purchase price, and the status of the SLICE liquidity pool.
The team once again emphasized that SLICE will always be a dedicated asset for the test network, will have no practical value, and will never be migrated to the main network.
