Aptos 'total trading volume exceeded 4.5 billion yuan, and daily active trading volume hit a record

Aptos processes transactions at an extremely fast speed that few blockchain can match, and its latest data clearly proves this. The network processed 13.2 million transactions in 24 hours, setting its highest daily activity in the past week. Since its launch in October 2022, Aptos has processed more than 4.51 billion transactions, which is almost one transaction for every two people on earth.

Aptos is a Layer-1 blockchain built for high transaction throughput and low fees. It is designed to support a variety of applications from DeFi and payments to real-world asset tokenization, all operations done on a single network.

For speed

The surge in transaction volume occurs on this type of infrastructure that is designed for high loads. Aptos currently processes 153.2 transactions per second in real-time, an increase of 6.67% from the previous day. The peak test throughput reaches 12,933 transactions per second, with a theoretical upper limit of 160,000 transactions per second, which is one of the highest announced capacities in mainstream blockchain. The block time (the time it takes to package and record a new batch of transactions) is only 37 milliseconds, while the final confirmation time (the moment when a transaction becomes permanent and irreversible) is zero seconds.

The last piece of data is far more important than it appears. Most blockchains take a few seconds to a few minutes to complete transaction confirmation. Zero-second final confirmation means that transactions are confirmed the moment processing is completed, which is a significant advantage for applications that require instant settlement, from payments and DeFi to real-world asset transactions. The current average transaction fee is just $0.0000267, less than a penny, making microtransactions economically feasible at any scale.

A steadily growing developer ecosystem

Behind the transaction numbers is a continuously building developer community. Aptos currently has 1200 active developers distributed in 134 GitHub repositories. Code is publicly shared and built. Code has been submitted 54,120 times and received 9,866 GitHub stars. These numbers reflect the continued development of ecosystems rather than being supported by a few isolated projects. The network uses a proof-of-stake consensus model and runs 92 verification nodes with a Nakamoto coefficient of 13. The Nakamoto coefficient measures the degree of decentralization of a network, and 13 means that it takes at least 13 independent entities to collude to break consensus. Although this figure lags behind large networks such as Ethereum and Solana in terms of the number of verification nodes, this coefficient reflects that the degree of decentralization continues to increase as the network grows.
