Ethereum holds $1850 support, traders focus on $1930 resistance

Ethereum continues to consolidate near key technical levels, derivatives market positions are stable, and on-chain activity remains resilient.

The latest data shows that Ethereum is trading at US$1,860.33, still close to an important resistance level after rebounding from a June low.

Technical levels remain the focus of attention

According to the TradingView daily chart, Ethereum is currently trading below the 20-day exponential moving average (US$1,871). The 50-day EMA ($1,849) provided short-term support, and buyers have recently successfully defended the area and avoided a deeper pullback.

Immediate resistance is near the 100-day EMA (approximately US$1,931), a level that overlaps with an area of horizontal resistance that has prevented breakthrough attempts multiple times in recent weeks. If the daily line closes firmly above US$1,931, it may stimulate stronger bullish momentum; conversely, if it loses 50-day EMA support, Ethereum may fall back to US$1,647.

Along with price movements, the balanced trading volume indicator has gradually improved since the end of June, indicating that buying pressure is slowly rising. However, Ethereum still needs to recover higher resistance to confirm a bullish reversal.

Analyst Views and Market Sentiment

Cryptocurrency analyst Ted Pillows regularly comments on market developments on Platform X, highlighting Ethereum's current situation after falling below $1,900. He pointed out that despite the weakening momentum, Ethereum's continued support at $1,850 still retains the possibility of a rebound to $2,000.

"ETH has fallen below the US$1,900 mark and its momentum has weakened slightly, but it remains above the US$1,850 support area. As long as that support is held, ETH is more likely to rebound towards $2,000."

This judgment is consistent with current market conditions-important technical levels are guiding traders 'emotions and decisions. During the consolidation phase, these areas have attracted much attention, and Ethereum is trying to break through the current range.

Derivatives and on-chain data show stability

According to CoinGlass data, the volume of open contracts in the Ethereum derivatives market remains above US$26 billion, and most traders maintain existing positions and have not leveraged on a large scale. Derivatives trading volumes also remained stable in July, indicating that the market was in equilibrium and there was no excessive speculation.

At the same time, DeFiLlama data shows that the total locked value of the Ethereum DeFi protocol is slightly less than US$40 billion, and the average daily transaction volume and number of active addresses remain stable. This shows the basic stability of the Ethereum ecosystem during the price consolidation period.

Ethereum is approaching a technological turning point. If we can continue to break through the US$1,930 resistance, it may attract new buying momentum; while losing the US$1,849 support may divert attention back to the US$1,647 support area.

Overview of key technical positions

20-day moving average: US$1,871 (short-term resistance)

50-day moving average: US$1,849 (direct support)

100-day moving average: US$1,931 (main resistance)

Key support: US$1,647 (key downside level)

With derivatives positions still high and Internet fundamentals remaining solid, traders are paying close attention to whether positive sentiment can push prices out of the decisive market.

Market observers warn that cryptocurrency prices fluctuate sharply, emphasizing the need to pay attention to both technical signals and broader market dynamics.
