XLM Stellar XLM's trading volume of tokenized assets and stablecoins has grown steadily
TLDR: Stellar XLM has shown growth in both tokenized assets and stablecoins. Technical analysis paints another possible scenario for its long-term trend.
Overview of on-chain data
According to data shared by wallet platform Scopuly, Stellar XLM is becoming one of the leading blockchains in tokenized real-world assets. Currently, the network hosts $3.06 billion worth of tokenized real-world assets in 70 products, making it second only to Ethereum in this category. The data comes as stablecoin activity on the network continues to expand amid institutional interest in payment infrastructure.
Growth in trading volume of tokenized assets and stablecoins
Scopuly's data shows that in the past month, tokenized real-world assets on Stellar XLM increased by 5.88%. This growth puts the network in a strong position in the blockchain that competes for institutional tokenization business. During the same period, the supply of stablecoins on Stellar XLM increased by 38.3%, reflecting increased issuance activity by stablecoin issuers built on the network. Scopuly reported that monthly stablecoin trading volume on Stellar XLM has reached $6.45 billion, indicating that the network's payment track is handling a large amount of transaction flow.
However, real-world asset transfers on Stellar XLM fell to $386 million over the same period. Scoply noted the decline while pointing to broader asset growth trends. The combination of the increase in total asset stocks and the decline in transfers presents a specific pattern: assets are accumulating on Stellar XLM faster than they are actively traded or transferred. Scopoly views this as an early stage in the network's development cycle and believes the next stage will involve converting assets held into higher trading activity.
Institutional infrastructure projects have also affected this outlook for Stellar XLM. Scoply mentioned the upcoming integration with Deposit Trusts and Clearing Companies as a related development. Issuers of tokenized treasury bonds and stablecoins continue to choose Stellar XLM as their settlement infrastructure, and these factors together support the network's positioning in the broader field of tokenization.
Technical analysis points to another possibility for the long-term trend of XLM
On the other hand, trader CG_trades used Elliott Wave theory to share a technical outlook on the price trend of XLM. The analysis presents a very different scenario from the fundamental growth narrative. The analysis suggests that XLM may be charting a macro-cycle reverse ABC pattern over a multi-year cycle. Under this interpretation, the A wave completed at the peak price in 2017. The analysis believes that XLM is currently in a B wave and is forming a rising triangle, indicating that there is a period of accumulation before further price changes.
CG_trades predicts that this pattern of E-wave may complete near the 2020 trend line, and the expected completion price range is between $0.11 and $0.12. If the XLM reverses after the E-wave completes, a longer-term goal will emerge. The trader's analysis pointed to the target range for the Cycle C wave being between $8.36 and $32, which represents a broad potential outcome based on the wave count in question. CG_trades views the monthly closing price below the 2020 trend line as a condition for the scenario to expire.
Scoply's fundamental data and CG_trades's technical outlook provide two different perspectives. The former focuses on network usage metrics related to real-world assets and stablecoins, while the latter relies on the identification of historical price patterns across multiple market cycles. Together, the two represent two different frameworks that analysts use to evaluate Stellar XLM.
