Although its performance has improved from the previous quarter, Trump-backed bitcoin treasury and mining company American Bitcoin (ABTC) still ended in a loss in the second quarter of 2026. For the three months ended June 30, the company's net loss was $57.2 million, down from approximately $82 million in the first quarter.

Its operating loss was US$74.1 million, the largest of which was a loss on digital assets, which was reported to have reached US$71.1 million. Mike Ho, CEO of Bitcoin in the United States, cited Bitcoin's market performance as a factor in the quarter's loss. During the quarter, Bitcoin prices fell by about 11%.

U.S. Bitcoin undergoes reverse stock split

Last month, Bitcoin in the United States announced that it would conduct a reverse stock split to reduce the number of outstanding shares from approximately 1.09 billion shares to approximately 73 million shares. The company decided to reverse split on a 1:15 ratio to avoid being delisted if its share price fell below the Nasdaq listing threshold. Previously, several other Bitcoin Treasury companies also carried out reverse stock splits for similar reasons. In May this year, Satoshi Nakamoto (Nasdaq: NAKA) implemented a 1-to-40 reverse stock split after its share price fell to US$0.15, reducing the outstanding shares from 696 million shares to approximately 17.4 million shares.
