Trump-backed American Bitcoin lost US$57.2 million in the second quarter, and its Bitcoin holdings increased to 8300.

American Bitcoin (ABTC), a well-known bitcoin miner and treasury company, announced a net loss of US$57.2 million in the second quarter of 2026, which narrowed from a loss of approximately US$82 million in the previous quarter.

Revenue growth and record production

In the quarterly report ended June 30, ABTC's mining revenue was US$67 million, an increase of approximately 8% from US$62.1 million in the first quarter. The company's second-quarter operating loss reached $74.1 million, most of which was attributed to a $71.1 million loss on digital assets.

According to CEO Mike Ho, fluctuations in Bitcoin prices had a significant impact on quarterly results. Bitcoin prices fell about 11% during the quarter. Mike Ho pointed out that despite facing headwinds in the Bitcoin market in the second quarter, ABTC management remained focused on operational efficiency and production targets.

American Bitcoin expanded its Bitcoin holdings to more than 8000 in the quarter, a 14% increase from 7021 BTC in the first quarter. This growth places the company among the major public holders of Bitcoin assets. Mining production has also increased. ABTC produced 932 BTC in the second quarter of 2026, up from 817 in the previous quarter, setting a new quarterly record for the company.

ABTC shares rose 1.08% to US$5.58 per share after the quarterly results were announced, reflecting investors 'cautious optimism despite continued losses.

Reverse stock segmentation and market positioning

In July this year, ABTC implemented a 1:15 reverse stock split, reducing its outstanding shares from approximately 1.09 billion shares to approximately 73 million shares. The move aims to maintain Nasdaq listing compliance requirements after the company's share price fell below the required threshold. Other companies in the industry have taken similar measures, such as Nakamoto, which completed a 1-to-40 reverse share split in May after its share price fell to US$0.15 and its total share price shrank from 696 million shares to approximately 17.4 million shares.

According to Bitcoin Treasures, ABTC is currently the 16th largest Bitcoin treasury company in the world, holding a total of 8300 BTC. The company's ongoing strategy combines production expansion with financial restructuring to consolidate its position in the highly competitive Bitcoin mining space.
