Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin announced a revised Ethereum development roadmap, shifting the focus of the project to quantum security technology, privacy enhancement and native Rollup solutions. Advances in Quantum Security and Privacy Technology

Buterin's update roadmap emphasizes the high importance it attaches to building a quantum security infrastructure. The move aims to address concerns that future advances in quantum computing may threaten current blockchain security models. In previous roadmaps, quantum security received very little attention.

The new roadmap includes a number of new cryptographic schemes, including LeanSPHINCS signatures, advanced aggregation technologies, and an improved zkzk framework. These technologies did not play a significant role in previous planning, but are now seen as necessary to protect Ethereum from evolving security risks.

Privacy protection measures also occupy a core position. The new roadmap gives higher priority to key nonce, privacy pool systems and other functions. These elements are designed to protect user confidentiality and enhance privacy options across the network.

Protocol developers have begun to replace their previous focus on state expiration with new state models, such as unified binary trees and partitioned binary trees based on Verkle tree research. This reflects efforts to improve storage efficiency and promote more flexible network upgrades.

Formal verification through artificial intelligence integration has also become a prominent feature. Recursive STARK is now used in Ethereum's execution, consensus and data management layers, thanks to modern AI-assisted technology. These advances have brought protocol reliability and security to higher standards.
