Bitcoin continues to be under pressure, whale selling exacerbates bearish risk

Bitcoin (BTC) is still facing selling pressure, and its failure to regain key resistance levels has heightened market concerns about the overall trend. The latest data shows that the current price of BTC is US$63,342.39, the 24-hour trading volume is US$19.4 billion, and the total market value is approximately US$1.27 trillion. Although prices have shown some stability in the short term, technical signals and significant whale activity suggest that downside risks remain.

Key resistance levels and whale selling activity

Cryptocurrency analyst Crypto Patel pointed out that Bitcoin is blocked in the US$82,800 resistance zone and the current price pattern has been confirmed to break, which means that on the higher time frame chart, BTC still maintains a bearish structure. Failure to recover that level suggests that recent gains may be just a corrective rebound rather than a true trend reversal.

The current US$71,000 to US$74,500 range is considered a key retest area. There are both bearish order blocks and fair value gaps in the region. If prices try to rebound, it may trigger a new round of selling. Only by continuing to exceed $82,800 can the bearish outlook be reversed. Until then, technical analysts remained cautious about the possibility of further declines.

Meanwhile, blockchain records tracked by Lookonchain show that massive whale selling through market maker Wintermute continues. About eight hours ago, a whale address associated with the Paxos network transferred 800 BTC, worth approximately $50.72 million, through Wintermute. In the previous two months, whales have sold a total of 2,500 BTC units worth approximately US$154 million.

BTC's blocking at US$82,800 and the recent sell-off of 800 BTC units (with a total value of US$50.72 million) through Wintermute have further strengthened the bearish market structure. If the support level falls, the risk of a deep correction will increase.

Traders are closely watching whether the current whale selling pattern continues or shifts to hoarding. If large holders continue to sell, short-term market sentiment may weaken further.

Key prices and market outlook

According to Patel's analysis, the range of US$71,000 to US$74,500 is not only an important reference for a rebound above, but also the key to further decline below. If the range breaks below and BTC closes below $59,800, analysts expect prices to drop to $50,000. On the contrary, if prices consolidate within this range, it will help relieve some of the bearish pressure and stabilize the market in the short term.

Traders are particularly concerned about whether whales continue to distribute chips through Wintermute, as further large transactions may accelerate the downside. The number and timing of these transactions are crucial to determining the potential direction of the market.

For individual investors, the current market environment is becoming increasingly complex. In the ever-changing crypto market, a Federal Reserve decision or the sudden launch of an altcoin can completely change the situation. Investors who switch between apps to view charts, news and portfolios will miss out on opportunities.

The future direction of Bitcoin depends largely on the results of a retest of the $71,000 to $74,500 range. If this level is held, the market may stabilize; but if it is blocked and falls below $59,800, it may usher in a deeper correction, targeting the $50,000 level.

Although Bitcoin has maintained some stability in the short term, technical resistance and continued whale activity still pose major challenges to any sustained rebound. Given the volatility of the crypto market and rapid changes in the situation, traders are advised to pay close attention to key resistance and support areas.
