Wall Street quietly increases its holdings in XRP ETF: A list of large holdings

Although the overall market environment for XRP and its related ETFs is far from reaching last year's peak, some of Wall Street's most well-known institutions have not given up on this field. On the contrary, recent U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission documents show that giants such as Jane Street, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, UBS, and several others have reported positions in XRP ETFs. However, there are significant differences in the size of their exposure.

Jane Street Group leads

In its latest Form 13F filing with the SEC at the end of the previous working week (covering positions as of June 30), Jane Street Group consolidated its lead in XRP ETF adoption. The trading giant holds more than 1.2 million shares in the Bitwise XRP ETF alone, as well as positions in other funds issued by Franklin Templeton, Grayscale, Canary Capital and 21Shares, according to the data. Particularly striking is its exposure to Bitwise products, as the ETF holds spot XRP, which is not the case with other ETFs tracking this popular altcoin. Bitwise's offering launched in November, just weeks after Canary Capital's ETF hit Wall Street, and has since become the largest of its kind.

The SEC confirms that the filing covers the second quarter of this year and includes the company's reportable securities positions as of June 30.

It is worth noting that Jane Street, as one of the largest market makers, is active in ETF and options trading, and its participation should not be simply seen as a long-term directional bet on XRP. However, the scale of its positions still cannot be ignored. In addition, at the end of the first quarter, the company held only 20,605 ordinary Bitwise XRP ETF shares, while the 1.2 million shares reported three months later represented a significant increase in position.

Bank of America and Morgan Stanley entered

Bank of America also disclosed in the latest reporting cycle that it holds 13,260 shares of the Volatility Shares XRP ETF. But the position is worth only about $76,000, far less than Jane Street's exposure. In addition, the Volatility Shares XRP ETF is not a spot ETF like Bitwise's financial instruments.

Morgan Stanley also disclosed positions in three XRP-related funds at the end of the second quarter: 6,715 shares of Franklin XRP ETF, 255 shares of REX-Osprey products, and 567 shares of Bitwise's counterpart.

These positions are insignificant relative to the giant's overall portfolio, but they add new members to a growing list of institutions reporting exposure to regulated XRP. In addition, Wolverine Asset Management holds nearly 200,000 shares of Bitwise XRP ETF, Gallacher Capital Management reports holding 86,744 shares of Capital XRP ETF, while Main Street Group and National Bank of Canada hold 5,261 shares and 3,848 shares of XRP-related products, respectively.
