Both networks have recorded significant on-chain growth

In the broader cryptocurrency market, two much-watched Layer-1 blockchains-@Cardano and @Aptos-have seen significant jumps in prices and on-chain activity in the past 24 hours, showing a rebound in user engagement between rival networks.

@Aptos 'daily trading volume increased by 11.2%, processing 11.1 million transactions in 24 hours in a single day. That number is part of a broader growth trend for the network. In July 2026, Aptos processed 389.36 million transactions, setting a monthly high since August 2024. Everstake attributes this growth to Aptos Labs 'ongoing infrastructure upgrades and ecological expansion. More recently, the network processed 13.2 million transactions in 24 hours in a single day, setting the highest level of daily activity in the past week, according to Chainspect.

Meanwhile,@Cardano processed 24,000 transactions yesterday, the highest daily throughput in the past seven days. ADA trading volume surged 48% in a single day to approximately US$600 million, reflecting a synchronized recovery in market activity and chain growth.

Background: Broader recovery in Internet usage

This increase in activity coincides with key milestones for both major networks. On Cardano's side, the upcoming Van Rossum hard fork and Ouroboros Leios upgrade will significantly improve smart contract efficiency and transaction processing capabilities, with the goal of processing more than 1000 transactions per second. Analysts are seeking confirmation signs of rising trading volumes, wallet address growth trends, and the successful release of major upgrades such as Van Rossum and Ouroboros Leios to maintain any breakout for $ADA.

For Aptos, institutional interest continues to heat up with network usage data. On March 17, 2026, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) jointly ruled that $APT was classified as a digital commodity. As of April 2026, the average daily transaction volume of the network is close to 10 million, and the market value of the stablecoin is approximately US$1.66 billion. At the same time, Bitwise continues to actively promote the application of the $APT Spot ETF after obtaining the commodity classification.

It remains to be seen whether the current surge in activity can translate into sustained momentum for any network. However, the data adds new content to the growing body of on-chain evidence that both @Cardano and @Aptos are attracting real user participation beyond speculative price movements.
