Bitcoin Volatility Alert: BTC is about to usher in a roller coaster?

Except for several large fluctuations of thousands of dollars within 24 hours, Bitcoin's price trend has remained basically stable for several months. The cryptocurrency is still trading sideways in the $58,000 to $65,000 range, with few signs of a breakthrough. However, Ali Martinez recently pointed out a historical pattern that has triggered significant fluctuations. The question is: Will history repeat itself?

Volatility is coming?

Frankly, many of us are addicted to Bitcoin's famous price fluctuations. While some critics see it as a major negative selling point, others are entering the cryptocurrency ecosystem because of this volatility-because it often makes life more interesting. Without fluctuations, Bitcoin and even the entire market seem unnatural. In fact, CryptoQuant's CEO recently pointed out that boredom is Bitcoin's biggest risk, not another price collapse.

Martinez told his more than 165,000 fans on the X platform that this seemingly persistent stagnation may soon change. His prediction is based on the historical performance of dormant Bitcoin after it moves. He wrote a report titled "High Volatility Warning!" The post added: "In the past 24 hours, a large number of dormant Bitcoin (BTC) has moved along the chain. Historically, the surge in old currency exchanges has often heralded the coming of major market changes."

Bitcoin did experience some volatility during the week-it surged from below $62,000 to $65,500 in one day after U.S. June CPI data fell below expectations. However, this is only a drop in the bucket, as its broader performance has been quite weak.

At the same time, another well-known analyst Kaleo suggested that this expected volatility could occur as early as today or tomorrow: "I think Bitcoin and Ethereum will have a good weekend rally this week."

Breaking through US$65,000 is imminent, BTC is performing well?

Michaël van de Poppe also commented on Bitcoin's recent performance, pointing out that as long as the price remains above US$60,000 to US$61,000, the asset "still looks good." However, a clear confirmation of a more positive trend will be a decisive breakthrough of $65,000. In a follow-up post, the analyst showed a "great chart of Bitcoin" and said it "looks ready to break through upward." He emphasized the importance of the $65,000 resistance level and believed that resistance would be overcome next week.
