XRP whale deposits to Binance plunged 34%, exchange inflows hit a two-month low

XRP's large transfers from whale to Binance dropped sharply, helping the price return above US$1.13.

The XRP price rebounded above US$1.13 after the number of tokens deposited with Binance by large holders (i.e."whales") dropped significantly. Data from online data analysis platform CryptoQuant shows that with the recent price rebound of XRP, large transfers from major whales to this leading exchange have slowed down significantly.

Whale trading volume plummeted

CryptoQuant reported that the number of tokens deposited by XRP whales with Binance per day has dropped to 25.3 million, worth approximately US$23 million. This number has dropped sharply compared with the previous level of 583 million XRPs (approximately US$1.36 billion at current prices). The change suggests that the whales are no longer as aggressively preparing for instant trading or potential sell-offs on the exchange as before.

The 90-day average for whale inflows also fell, from nearly $460 million earlier this year to $69 million more recently. This trend shows that large transfers have decreased significantly, and the supply of XRP available for transactions in Bindian has also declined.

Typically, inflows to exchanges rise when large holders plan to sell or trade large amounts of assets. However, the decrease in inflows does not directly prove that the large-scale selling in the market has ended. It more reflects the current decrease in activity among major XRP holders related to Binance.

Recent CryptoQuant data highlights that during the rebound in XRP prices, the number of tokens deposited by whales into Binance dropped sharply from 583 million to only 25.3 million, indicating a significant decrease in the amount of XRPs flowing to exchanges.

Cumulative inflow on the 30th hit a two-month low

According to Arab Chain research, the cumulative inflow on the 30th day of XRP whales in the currency has dropped to approximately 947.4 million, the lowest level in the past two months. This figure came after reaching a peak of 1.445 billion at the end of June, a decrease of 34.4% within a month.

This decrease suggests that XRP Whales not only restrict transfers to exchanges, but may also prefer to hold tokens in private wallets or conduct transactions through other platforms. Analysts at Arab Chain pointed out that the continued decline in whale deposits could signal a cautious trading strategy or a weakening of intentions for a large-scale sell-off.

However, Arab Chain emphasized that relying on a single indicator can be misleading and recommended a comprehensive analysis combined with other indicators such as price trends, trading volumes, derivatives data and broader exchange traffic.

Market supply and price impact

As large XRP deposits into Binance decrease, exchange supply from major holders also declines. This tightening of instantly tradable tokens can affect market liquidity and help stabilize prices when overall demand resumes.

During this period, the XRP market price once again stood at US$1.13, returning to the positive region. Some analysts view lower whale inflows as a factor driving the trend and note that limited exchange supply could slow further selling pressure.

Despite the decline in large transfers, the existing stock of small transactions and exchanges may still affect supply and price dynamics in the liquid market. Currently, XRP whale is an important part of the overall liquidity structure of the token, but it is not the only factor.

As exchange supply from major holders continues to shrink, XRP has remained above US$1.13, reflecting a significant slowdown in large deposits by whales into Binance.
