Ethereum prices remain stable amid warnings from technical indicators
Ethereum's recent upward trend seems to be stabilizing, with a new signal from a technical indicator suggesting a possible reversal. As of noon on Monday, Ethereum was trading at US$1,903.09, a slight increase of 0.02% from the previous trading day. The 24-hour trading volume of the cryptocurrency was US$15.91 billion, bringing its market value to US$229.79 billion. Despite recent gains, Ethereum's momentum seems to be cooling.
Is the momentum for price growth weakening?
According to well-known cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez, the TD Sequential indicator has changed and caution is currently recommended. Martinez pointed out that the tool accurately sent a buy signal when Ethereum was around $1,500, and then the price surged 31.5%, but now the indicator is showing a sell signal as it approaches the $1,980 mark.
Although TD Sequential is known for identifying turning points in the market, Ethereum is still above key technical indicators. Prices are currently stable above the middle track of the Bollinger Band, indicating continued bullish sentiment, but face challenges as they approach the resistance level of $1,968.57.
Similar concerns are reflected in the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator. The MACD line is currently 36.14, which is lower than the signal line 38.86, and the histogram shows-2.72. Although the overall trend is upward, recent crossings suggest that buying forces are weakening.
How will Ethereum develop next?
The key resistance area between $1,968 and $1,980 could determine Ethereum's next move. If it can successfully break through this area, it may trigger a new round of bullish momentum and push the cryptocurrency to a new high.
Conversely, if this barrier is not broken through, coupled with a new warning from TD Sequential, prices may fall back to support near US$1,884 in the middle of the Bollinger Band. The direction of these key levels will affect the short-term direction of Ethereum.
Ali Martinez emphasized that the TD Sequential indicator had previously given a buy signal for profit, but now sends a bearish outlook around $1,980, reminding traders to be cautious.
Investors are also paying attention to other factors that may affect market movements. As technical indicators sent mixed signals, some analysts warned that the short-term outlook remained uncertain until significant resistance levels were breached.
Ethereum is showing signs of potential stagnation as it approaches the main resistance level.
Technical indicators such as MACD and TD Sequential send contradictory signals.
Market participants are weighing various strategies to respond to possible changes.
Investors are closely watching the next trading session to determine whether Ethereum's recent bullish momentum continues or ends.
