The net inflow of the U.S. spot bitcoin ETF on Thursday was US$233.1 million, a single-day high in more than three weeks.

Key Data Summary

The net inflow of the U.S. spot bitcoin ETF on Thursday was US$233.1 million, the highest single-day record in more than three weeks. Among them, BlackRock's IBIT contributed US$183.4 million, accounting for 78.7% of the total net inflow that day. As of the end of July, the cumulative net inflow of such funds this month reached US$437.8 million, following billions of dollars of outflows in the previous two months.

BlackRock IBIT led the increase in Bitcoin ETF inflows

According to data, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust Fund (code IBIT) absorbed US$183.4 million in a single day, accounting for 78.7% of the total net inflows that day. Beatvez's BitB fund followed closely with $20.7 million, while Fidelity's FBTC fund recorded a net inflow of $15.5 million. Other small funds also recorded positive growth, giving BlackRock alone almost four-fifths of the day's total inflows.

This result put the class of funds back in positive terms this week, with net inflows reaching US$203.84 million during the week. If a net outflow below this figure occurs on Friday, it will achieve four consecutive weeks of positive growth, setting a record for the longest consecutive increase since early May.

As of Thursday's trading, cumulative net inflows in July were approximately US$205 million, the weakest monthly record since the fund's inception. Although there has not been a loss for the month, if it finally closes near the current level, it will still end the previous two consecutive months of billions of dollars in redemptions.

Bitcoin price support around US$63300

Bitcoin traded at around $64338 on Thursday, down about 1.8% from the past week and well below the $66000 mark hit earlier this month. Analysts pointed out that the 200-week moving average of about $63300 is a key level. If it falls below $62500, bears may target around $60000.

The net inflow of spot Ethereum ETF on the same day was US$13.3 million, and the Ethereum trading price was close to US$1905. This type of product reported losses in only five trading days in July, while net inflows were recorded in only four trading days in June. The Ethereum Fund collected a total of US$342.85 million this month, pushing the Ethereum/Bitcoin exchange rate up 11%.

Bitcoin ETF traffic rebounds after record outflows in June

The return of funds comes after the previous two months of downturn. The fund has had eight consecutive weeks of outflows since mid-May. Investors withdrew $2.43 billion in May and $4.52 billion in June, setting the worst monthly outflow since the product went public in January 2024. Weekly capital flows turned positive in the second week of July and continue to this day, although the increase is small, at US$197 million, US$75.67 million and US$33.79 million respectively. Four consecutive days of capital outflows ended on July 29, when a net inflow of US$32.1 million was recorded that day, almost all of which came from IBIT. The cumulative net inflow of BlackRock funds has exceeded US$60 billion, far exceeding its competitors with similar products.
