Arthur Hayes sells a large amount of Ethereum and two altcoins
Sources say that BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes sold a considerable portion of his ETH holdings after the price of Ethereum fell nearly 3%.
Online data shows that in the past two weeks, Hayes purchased a total of 3,298 ETH units through over-the-counter transactions, with an average buying price of US$1,916. However, about two hours earlier, an address suspected to belong to Hayes transferred 2,364 ETH pieces to addresses associated with Cumberland and Galaxy Digital.
After the above transfer was completed, 4.3 million USDC units were sent to Hayes 'wallet. The flow of transactions suggests that the transferred Ethereum has most likely been sold.
Assuming Hayes sells 2,364 ETH units, the transaction is expected to result in a loss of approximately US$220,000.
In addition, online data also shows that Arthur Hayes recently sold SYN worth US$658,000 and ENA worth US$248,000.
BitMEX, a cryptocurrency exchange founded by Hayes, recently announced its decision to permanently close.
