At the beginning of the week, Bitcoin prices encountered resistance at the US$65,000 mark, then retreated back to US$62,400, setting a 17-day low, before gaining support and recovering to US$63,000. In the past 24 hours, most large-value altcoins have also shown a downward trend, with HYPE, UNI and AAVE falling particularly significantly.

BTC Back to $63K

About a week ago, Bitcoin had been rising all the way, hitting a monthly high of $67,000 thanks to the good U.S. inflation data in June. However, the market quickly turned bearish, and the asset fell below $64,000 the following Friday.

Its rebound began over the weekend and intensified on Monday, with Bitcoin rising to US$65,600 several times. However, it failed to continue its gains, plunging to $62,700 a day later as investors reduced risk ahead of a key Federal Reserve Open Market Committee meeting. Volatility intensified before and after the meeting, and the Federal Reserve ultimately left interest rates unchanged.

Bitcoin began a stronger recovery on Thursday and Friday morning, jumping again to $65,500. However, the familiar scenario reappeared as bears regained control, pushing it down to a low of $62,400 since July 14. Bulls managed to step forward and help Bitcoin recover some of its losses to its current $63,000, but there were some warning signs that it could fall again. On CoinGecko, its market value fell to $1.265 trillion, while its dominance of altcoins stabilized at 56%.

These 2 Alts Fly

Audiera's BEAT was the biggest gainer in the past 24 hours, surging 22% to $4.60. MemeCore (M) followed closely, rising to $1.10 with an 11% increase, joining the double-digit gainer club. PUMP (9%) and PI (5%) followed closely.

In contrast, most large-market altcoins are in decline. ETH fell more than 1%, as did BNB and XRP. HYPE fell another 5% to $52. RAIN fell nearly 3%, while UNI and AAVE fell more than 6%. XMR, HBAR and SHIB are among the few exceptions to the gains.

The total market value of cryptocurrencies fell by about US$30 billion in one day, falling to US$2.260 trillion on CoinGecko.
