Despite a wave of selling at the end of July and accompanying fluctuations in Bitcoin prices, US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) still ended with positive returns overall in July.

SoSoValue data shows that Bitcoin ETF attracted moderate net inflows of US$172.4 million in July, reversing the previous two-month trend of capital outflows.

Despite the volatile volatility at the end of July-the fund recorded a net outflow of $265.4 million on the last trading day of the week, the largest one-day withdrawal since July 13-the monthly data still achieved positive inflows.

It returned to positive range in July, improving the flow of funds in Bitcoin ETFs. In the previous two months, the total net outflow of such funds was nearly US$7 billion, of which US$4.5 billion was recorded in June, making it the largest monthly net outflow in 2026. However, a weak performance at the end of the month suggests that investors remain cautious as they enter August.

Bitcoin ETF will remain negative in 2026, with a cumulative net outflow of US$5.29 billion.

Although a small net inflow was recorded in July, US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs have accumulated a net outflow of approximately US$5.3 billion year-to-date.

March, April and July were the only three positive income months in 2026, with a combined inflow of US$3.46 billion; while January, February, May and June recorded a total net outflow of approximately US$8.75 billion.

Since their launch, the cumulative net inflow of these products has still reached US$51.32 billion, and as of the end of July, total net assets were US$76.29 billion.

Monthly capital flows turned negative at the end of the month, after Bitcoin ETFs had achieved net inflows for three consecutive weeks. For the week ended July 31, the Bitcoin ETF recorded a net outflow of US$61.53 million.

Ethereum ETF achieved four consecutive weeks of net inflows in July

Although Bitcoin ETF faced a new round of selling pressure at the end of July, some altcoin ETFs maintained more stable capital inflows.

Ethereum ETF performed outstandingly, recording net inflows for four consecutive weeks, with an overall net inflow of US$365.2 million in July. SoSoValue data shows that this is the second month in 2026 that the Ethereum ETF has achieved positive inflows, after recording a net inflow of US$356 million in April. Despite the recovery, the cumulative net outflow of this type of products is about US$1.1 billion year-to-date.

The XRP ETF also maintained stable demand, recording a net inflow of US$27.3 million in July, becoming the fifth positive income month in 2026. This type of product has accumulated a net inflow of approximately US$343 million year-to-date, making it one of the strongest performing cryptocurrency ETF categories this year.
