ETH/BTC is close to long-term channel resistance, and traders wait for confirmation of Ethereum's relative strength.
Bitcoin continues to outperform Ethereum in the latest trading session, and ETH/BTC remains below key technical resistance levels.
The confirmed ETH/BTC breakthrough may increase attention in the altcoin market, but it remains to be confirmed.
Ethereum prices remain the focus, with traders monitoring key ETH/BTC resistance levels while a wider range of market participants await confirmation signals that could change relative market leadership.
ETH/BTC resistance becomes the main focus
Alex Marzell shared a chart around ETH/BTC performance. Analysis focuses on relative strengths rather than individual assets. One level of resistance dominates the current technological outlook.

The chart shows that ETH/BTC is below the decline channel for more than a month. Every previous rally has stalled near the upper boundary. This trend line continues to define a broader correction structure.
The ratio has steadily declined after reaching its peak in 2025. Lower highs and lower lows continue to appear within the channel. The seller held on to downward resistance many times.
Recent price trends show improvement in momentum within the channel. Lower highs began to form. Buyers gradually push ETH/BTC to the top of the channel.
Ethereum lags behind Bitcoin in recent transactions
Market data compares the performance of Ethereum and Bitcoin over the last 24-hour trading session. Ethereum closed at $1,882.18, down 1.9% over the same period. Bitcoin also weakened, but maintained a relatively strong performance.

Both cryptocurrencies showed positive momentum at the opening. Buying in early trading pushed both higher. However, Ethereum's gains subsided earlier than Bitcoin.
There was a significant divergence in late trading. Ethereum fell below the benchmark before Bitcoin. Selling pressure intensified as the trading session progressed.
Daily trading volume also declined during this process. Market values reflect broader weakness. Although market activity continues, participation has weakened.
Breakthroughs may affect altcoin rotation
This update connects the strength of ETH/BTC to broader cryptocurrency participation. His posts suggest that Ethereum's lead often precedes stronger altcoin activity. The chart shows that this result is conditional.
Breaking channel resistance will negate months of lower highs. The next level of resistance becomes the expected goal. This level has previously rejected repeated attempts to rebound.
Failure at resistance will maintain the current downward trend. Another rejection would maintain Bitcoin's relative leadership position. Under this result, the altcoin rotation may be delayed.
As of this writing, ETH/BTC is still directly below its decisive technical obstacles. A breakthrough has not yet been confirmed. Market participants continue to focus on whether Ethereum can build continued relative strength before a broader capital rotation takes shape.
