Bitcoin and Ethereum prices were sideways, market focused on U.S. employment data
On Friday, Bitcoin prices hovered around $65,000, and Ethereum traded at around $1,903, while the broader cryptocurrency market remained largely stable ahead of the release of U.S. employment data.
U.S. non-farm payrolls fell by 23,000 in July, far below market expectations for an increase of 83,000; the unemployment rate fell to 4.1%. The data reinforced market expectations that the Federal Reserve will maintain interest rates in the range of 3.50% to 3.75% in September.
Affected by this, Nasdaq 100 index futures rose 1.2%, S & P 500 index futures rose 0.5%, and Dow Jones index futures rose 160 points. The previous trading day, major Wall Street stock indexes closed down.
