The Ethereum price outlook has turned more optimistic, technical indicators flash rare buy signals, and institutional capital inflows have increased. Analysts are increasingly viewing the $2,000 mark as a key milestone, and a breakthrough of key resistance could lead to further progress towards $3,000.

Technical signals highlight bullish potential

Well-known cryptocurrency analyst Ali Charles pointed out that the monthly TD series indicator used to identify trend failures and potential market reversals has issued two buy signals for Ethereum. This includes a black 9 pattern and a S13 countdown pattern on the Ethereum monthly chart.

From historical data, the main signals of the TD series often appear before significant market fluctuations. For example, a sell signal in April 2022 occurred just before Ethereum entered a deep decline of about 75%, while a black 9 signal in September 2022 subsequently triggered a strong price rebound of 236%.

Ali Charles highlighted the recent performance of the TD sequence: past buy signals have triggered significant gains, including a 258% gain after the A13 signal in April 2025. As the latest form takes shape, if confirmed, Ethereum's path to $3,000 will become the focus.

Currently, Ethereum is trading at close to $1,625. To achieve the $3,000 target, an increase of about 85% is needed. However, analysts also warned that the TD sequence only indicates a possible trend collapse and is not a guarantee of a rebound. Further confirmation still needs to be obtained through price movements such as forming higher lows and recovering resistance levels.

US$2,000 constitutes direct technical resistance

Well-known cryptocurrency analyst Michel van der Popp pointed out that the US$1,800 to 2,000 range is a key area of contention for Ethereum's short-term price trend. He described $1,800 as important support, while a clear breakthrough of $2,000 could herald the beginning of a stronger rebound.

Van der Popp's latest chart shows ETH prices close to $1,915, with initial support around $1,825 and resistance around $2,465. If buying momentum continues to break through this level, there will be additional resistance in the $2,500 to $2,600 range.

Analysts pointed out that for Ethereum to effectively challenge the $3,000 level, it must first ensure that it breaks through $2,000, and then clear several higher resistance thresholds.

ETF capital inflows and volatility trends support the price pattern

Option data shows that the volatility of Ethereum prices has declined during the recent consolidation process. Measured by Glassnode's DVOL index, the index recorded 47.44 on August 7 after running above 50 for most of July. Lower volatility usually indicates that the market expects a more stable price range in the short term.

Meanwhile, U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a net inflow of $255.6 million from August 4 to August 7, according to Farside Investors. As technical signals gain wider attention, this continued injection of institutional capital may provide further support.

With the increase in institutional investment and the emergence of historically rare technology forms, market attention is focusing on whether Ethereum can achieve a clear breakthrough of US$2,000 and move towards the longer-term goal of US$3,000.
