The price of Ethereum is sideways around US$1870, with US$2245 becoming the key resistance.
The price of Ethereum has recently maintained horizontal fluctuations at around US$1870, and the long and short sides have not yet formed a significant advantage. Investors 'attention is focused on the key price of $2245. Although on-chain data and MVRV indicators have sent positive signals, suggesting that rising potential still exists, Ethereum has not yet launched a strong upward trend. Analysts pointed out that if it exceeds $2245, the target of $3000 may come back into view.
The US$2245 mark highlights the importance
Analyst Ali Martinez said that Ethereum had previously gained support in the US$1580 area, which has historically been the starting point for strong price movements. However, the current price is sideways around $1870, indicating that the market has not yet formed a clear direction. It is worth noting that Ethereum has moved above the 0.8 MVRV pricing band. The MVRV indicator reveals investors 'cost structure by comparing market value with realized value. Martinez pointed out that after historically breaking through the 0.8 MVRV band, Ethereum tends to move towards the level of realized value. The current level is approximately US$2245, so US$2245 has become a key threshold for Ethereum to break through the current sideways pattern.
US$3000 has strong resistance and is not easy to break through
Although a breakthrough of $2245 may strengthen bullish scenarios, reaching the $3000 region will not be easy. On-chain data shows that more than 10 million ETH have changed hands in the region. An intensive trading history suggests that investors who previously bought may choose to sell when the Ethereum price approaches $3000. Therefore,$3000 is regarded as an important resistance level both psychologically and supply-intensive. In addition, the MVRV momentum gold fork is also one of the indicators that the market pays attention to. Although similar signals have once appeared in history and were followed by strong gains, this does not mean that the trend will inevitably repeat in the future.
Falling USDT supply limits market liquidity
As Ethereum prices are stuck around US$1870, changes in market liquidity are also under close watch. CryptoQuant data shows that the two-month change in the market value of USDT fell by approximately $4 billion in early August, including a decrease of $870 million in the past 11 days. The shrinking supply of stablecoins means that liquidity available for the crypto market may decrease in the short term. Although this does not directly constitute a bearish signal for Ethereum, it may become one of the factors making it difficult for prices to start a strong rise. The direction of Ethereum will depend on multiple factors such as Bitcoin price, market liquidity, network activity and overall risk appetite.
Analyst Michael Van der Popper believes that Ethereum may experience rapid price fluctuations. He pointed out that if investors wait for clear confirmation, they may miss the starting point for a potential rally. In the long run,$5100 and $6300 are listed as target prices.
Assessment
Ethereum is still moving sideways around $1870, seeking direction. Therefore, the current pattern does not directly point to an upward or downward trend, but rather suggests an important consolidation stage. In the short term,$2245 is the most important key threshold for Ethereum. If Ethereum can break this level with strong trading volume, the US$3000 target will become the focus again. However, dense supply in the $3000 area and declining USDT liquidity pose major risks on the potential upward path. Conversely, if Ethereum maintains its current sideways structure, the market may continue to wait for a new catalyst. Therefore, investors need to pay close attention to price fluctuations around US$1870, while also paying attention to the resistance level of US$2245 and changes in market liquidity.
