South Korean Bitcoin has a reverse kimchi premium
On August 17, Bitcoin recorded a reverse kimchi premium of-0.28% in the Korean market.
As of 0:00 a.m. Korean Standard Time on August 17, Bitcoin's quoted price on South Korea's Upbit Exchange was 89.26 million won, up 0.01% from the previous trading day. On the global trading platform Binhang, the price of Bitcoin is 89.51 million won, there is a negative price difference of 250,000 won between the two, and the reverse kimchi premium is-0.28%.
The reverse kimchi premium for Ethereum, the main altcoin, is-0.24%. Other mainstream altcoins are also generally lower than the global price, including Solana at-0.39%, Ripple at-0.28%, Dogecoin at-0.21%, and Sui at-0.34%. At present, the reverse kimchi premium of most mainstream altcoins is concentrated in the range of-0.2% to-0.3%.
