Tensions intensify in Ethereum: Breakthrough or Fall Back?
Ethereum is currently in a period of price stagnation, hovering around the US$1880 mark. The market maintained a wait-and-see attitude, and ETH maintained trading near this level in the past day, with a daily turnover of US$4.89 billion. Traders are eager to look for signs of a breakthrough or potential decline.
Can Ethereum break through the ceiling of resistance?
Ethereum has been moving in a path formed by key moving averages, but faces strong downtrend resistance. Anonymous analyst "Crypto Predictions" pointed out that ETH is falling into a bearish pennant pattern and is gradually approaching the key point of the pattern. The $1850 to $1880 range has become a support battle area, thanks to support from the exponential moving average, which suggests a threshold for potential reversals. Once it breaks through the range of US$1900 to US$1920, it may open up space for upward momentum and target US$2000.
Can a new round of gains reach US$2400?
Altstreet Bets pointed out that Ethereum's consolidation in the US$1850 to US$1900 corridor suggests that the structure is strengthening, which could be a sign of a bullish trend. After rallying from $1580 support, ETH tried to stabilize below the $1950 to $2300 resistance zone. Breaking this threshold could push ETH towards $2400 to $2500. This key breakthrough is seen as a necessary condition for any continued progress in the medium term.
The analysis reached the following conclusions on the current and potential price trends of Ethereum:
US$1580, as a long-term support level, has repeatedly shown resilience.
Current immediate support is between US$1850 and US$1880 as EMA gathers here.
The first resistance benchmark is US$1900 to US$1920, which is crucial for kinetic energy conversion.
US$2300 to US$2400 is a strong resistance level and constitutes a medium-term target.
If we can continue to break through, we are expected to look towards the US$3000 target.
Technical indicators show that selling pressure on Ethereum is falling to levels not seen since 2015. When prices stabilize at reliable support levels, this phenomenon is usually associated with upcoming gains. $1580 remains a key fortress, fueling price rebounds many times, most recently by 26% from a low. Analysts believe that if Ethereum breaks through the current resistance zone, it is expected to move towards $3000.
"Ethereum's ability to continue to rebound from $1580 has prompted analysts to view $3000 as a potential milestone, but only if resistance around $2300 must be overcome."
Can bears win at $1210?
Although the short-term performance seems optimistic, some experts remain wary of a broader bearish pattern. These patterns still hang over the market and could push prices down towards $1210 for some time to come. They believe the 21-week EMA remains a key obstacle that potential buyers must overcome to reverse the trend and maintain the rebound momentum.
Ethereum continues to play a delicate game between basic support and decisive resistance. A successful breakthrough of US$1900 to US$1920 may pave the way for a subsequent rise to US$2000 and gradually advance towards US$2300 to US$2400. On the contrary, if a loss occurs at this level, the market's attention will turn back to the confirmed support level, of which $1580 will become a bulwark against a larger decline.
